Ampicillin treatment.

open access: yes, 2016
We compare results of model simulation with data from [9] under Ampicillin treatment. Therapy starts 24 hours after infection and is continued every 12h.

Effect of Biosynthesized Gold and Silver Nanoparticles Using Alchemilla vulgaris Extract and Their Synergistic Action with Subinhibitory Concentrations of Ampicillin Against Staphylococci

open access: yesAntibiotics
Background: Staphylococci, recognized for their virulence and antibiotic resistance, are important in both human and veterinary medicine. Loss of sensitivity to beta-lactam antibiotics, such as ampicillin, complicates therapy, prompting the search for ...

Engineered Optogenetic Circuits In Yeast with Self‐Sustained Outputs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Optogenetic quorum‐sensing (OptoQS) circuit enables Saccharomyces cerevisiae to record transient light stimulus with self‐sustained outputs. Panel a indicates the design of the OptoQS circuit based on G‐protein coupled receptor (GPCR) signaling cascade. Panel b indicates the mode of action of surrogate messenger‐mediated signal transmission at the cell

Synthetic O‐Polysaccharide Backbone Units for a Single Antigen Vaccine Against Two Major Non‐Typhoidal Salmonella Serovars

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A modular strategy was developed to synthesize tri‐, hexa‐, and nona‐saccharides representing repeating units of the conserved O‐polysaccharide backbone of Salmonella. Conjugates of these glycans to bacteriophage Qβ induced strong IgG responses in mice and rabbits. Antibodies elicited recognized native O‐polysaccharides and conferred protection against

A Dual‐Phase Exosomal Nanotherapy Enhances Continual Efferocytosis by Coordinating Checkpoint Inhibition and Metabolic Reprogramming in Atherosclerosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Here we developed Am@SExo, a dual‐functional engineered exosome that coordinates CD47–SIRPα checkpoint blockade with Arg1 mRNA–mediated metabolic reprogramming. Surface SIRPα promotes recognition of apoptotic cells and plaque targeting, while Arg1 expression enhances arginine–ornithine metabolism, Rac1 activation, and actin remodeling in macrophages ...

Ampicillin Enhances Daptomycin- and Cationic Host Defense Peptide-Mediated Killing of Ampicillin- and Vancomycin-Resistant Enterococcus faecium

open access: yes, 2012
We studied an ampicillin- and vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium (VRE) isolate from a patient with endocarditis and bacteremia refractory to treatment with daptomycin (6 mg/kg of body weight) plus linezolid.

RNF138‐Mediated Ubiquitination and Degradation of NS5 Restricts Tick‐Borne Encephalitis Virus Infection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Host‐specific compatibility between RNF138‐like proteins and flavivirus NS5 determines NS5 stability. Mammalian RNF138 but not arthropod homologs recognizes and induces conserved NS5/RdRp K48‐linked ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation, thereby restricting viral replication. Ectopic RNF138 in mice attenuates TBEV‐induced pathogenesis. (Created in

Investigation of using Fenton oxidation process for ampicillin and ciprofloxacin removal from hospital wastewater [PDF]

open access: yesفصلنامه ابن سینا, 2017
Background: Antibiotics are one of the most important pollutants of the aqueous environments. In this study, the efficiency of Fenton advanced oxidation process to remove the antibiotics (ciprofloxacin and ampicillin) was investigated.
