Piggybacking Codes for Network Coding: The High/Low SNR Regime

open access: yes, 2017
We propose a piggybacking scheme for network coding where strong source inputs piggyback the weaker ones, a scheme necessary and sufficient to achieve the cut-set upper bound at high/low-snr regime, a new asymptotically optimal operational regime for the

Impact of Residual Hardware Impairments on Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access Based Amplify-and-Forward Relaying Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
We quantify the impact of residual hardware impairments (RHI) on a non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA)-based relaying network, where a source communications simultaneously with multiple users via an amplify-and-forward relay.

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...

Localizing Noncooperative Receiver Through Full-Duplex Amplify-and-Forward Relay

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Localizing noncooperative transmitter (Tx) and receiver (Rx) that belong to another system is important in many scenarios, e.g., interference management in cognitive radio systems and user behavior learning in ad hoc wireless networks. However, obtaining

Optimal Relay Selection Scheme Based on Hybrid Decode-Amplify-and-Forward [PDF]

open access: yesJisuanji gongcheng, 2017
In order to extend the network life on the base of lower Symbol Error Rate(SER),a relay selection scheme based on Hybrid Decode-Amplify-and-Forward(HDAF) relaying method is proposed.Joint optimization function about receiving Signal to Noise Ratio(SNR ...

Performance Comparison of All-Optical Amplify-and-Forward Relaying FSO Communication Systems With OOK and DPSK Modulations

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2018
All-optical amplify-and-forward (OAF) relaying technique can amplify and filter the attenuated optical signal in optical domain, and thus is regarded as a simple way to extend the transmission distance of free-space optical (FSO) communication systems ...

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Short-Packet Two-Way Amplify-and-Forward Relaying [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Signal Processing Letters, 2017
This letter investigates an amplify-and-forward two-way relay network (TWRN) for short-packet communications. We consider a classical three-node TWRN consisting of two sources and one relay.

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.
