Transfer Printing and Reconfiguration of Soft Electronics Using Digital Microfluidics and Laser Machining

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This paper presents a digital microfluidics‐based technique for transferring and reconfiguring soft nanomembranes. Laser‐machined nanothin membranes are picked up, transported, and aligned via tailored surface tension and the actuation of water droplets, enabling the development of flexible electronics, the integration of functional materials on 3D ...

A Compact Polarimetric CTLR Mode Calibration Method Immune to Faraday Rotation Using Two Dihedral Reflectors

open access: yesRemote Sensing
This paper proposes a compact polarimetric CTLR mode calibration method using only two dihedral reflectors. The method leverages the property that the dihedral scattering matrix is unaffected by double-pass Faraday rotation, effectively eliminating the ...

Titanium Suboxides Responsible for Electronic Anomaly Near Room Temperature in the Ti3C2Tx MXene

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Our multi‐technique study reveals that the near‐room‐temperature anomaly in Ti3C2Tx MXene is linked to titanium suboxide nanodomains, including Ti3O5, embedded within the MXene host. Their temperature‐driven transformation provides an alternative explanation to solvent‐ and swelling‐based models and offers new insight into the thermally activated ...

Integrated Field‐Free SOT Domain‐Wall Synapses and MTJ Stochastic Neurons for Hardware Boltzmann Machines

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Field‐free spin‐orbit torque domain‐wall synapses integrated with stochastic MTJ neurons enable compact hardware Boltzmann machines. Leveraging intrinsic stochasticity and multi‐level conductance, the system achieves efficient probabilistic learning with high accuracy, demonstrating a scalable spintronic platform for energy‐efficient edge AI.

Dual‐Salt Carbothermal Shock Strategy Enabling Ultrafast and Sustainable Regeneration of Spent LiFePO4 Cathode Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) accounts for over 50% of the global cathode market, underscoring the need for efficient recycling and regeneration. We propose a dual‐salt carbothermal shock (CTS) strategy using LiI and NaI to in situ repair Li vacancies.

Noncontact Multi-Domain Mass Imbalance Detection in Rotational Machinery Systems

open access: yesIEEE Access
This paper introduces a radar-based solution for noncontact detection of mass imbalance in rotational machinery systems. The approach uses a low-cost 24 GHz continuous-wave radar to acquire baseband in-phase and quadrature signals, from which amplitude ...

Dipole‐Engineered Conductive Additives for Ultrastable Interphase Evolution in High‐Areal‐Capacity Silicon Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In the work reported herein, dipole‐engineered sulfonated carbon nanofibers enable conductive additives to actively regulate interphase formation in silicon anodes. Polar sulfonyl groups guide electrolyte decomposition to form a compact LiF‐rich interphase while promoting robust integration with silicon.
