Exact solutions to D=2 Supersymmetric Yang-Mills Quantum Mechanics with SU(3) gauge group [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this article we present the cut Fock space approach to the D=d+1=2, Supersymmetric Yang-Mills Quantum Mechanics (SYMQM). We start by briefly introducing the main features of the framework. We concentrate on those properties of the method which make it

Periodic orbits for classical particles having complex energy

open access: yes, 2011
This paper revisits earlier work on complex classical mechanics in which it was argued that when the energy of a classical particle in an analytic potential is real, the particle trajectories are closed and periodic, but that when the energy is complex ...

Digital twin of a large-aspect-ratio Rayleigh–Bénard experiment: role of thermal boundary conditions, measurement errors and uncertainties

open access: yesFlow
Albeit laboratory experiments and numerical simulations have proven themselves successful in enhancing our understanding of long-living large-scale flow structures in horizontally extended Rayleigh–Bénard convection, some discrepancies with respect to ...

Shaping liquid films by dielectrophoresis

open access: yesFlow, 2021
We present a theoretical model and experimental demonstration of thin liquid film deformations due to a dielectric force distribution established by surface electrodes. We model the spatial electric field produced by a pair of parallel electrodes and use

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

On hypergeometric series reductions from integral representations, the Kampe de Feriet function, and elsewhere

open access: yes, 2006
Single variable hypergeometric functions pFq arise in connection with the power series solution of the Schrodinger equation or in the summation of perturbation expansions in quantum mechanics.

The quantum Arnold transformation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
By a quantum version of the Arnold transformation of classical mechanics, all quantum dynamical systems whose classical equations of motion are non-homogeneous linear second-order ordinary differential equations, including systems with friction linear in

A review on vortex dynamics in the healthy and dilated left ventricles and its application to heart health

open access: yesFlow
Many cardiovascular diseases occur due to an abnormal functioning of the heart. A diseased heart leads to severe complications and in some cases death of an individual.

Solidity effects on the performance of vertical-axis wind turbines

open access: yesFlow, 2021
The variety of configurations for vertical-axis wind turbines (VAWTs) make the development of universal scaling relationships for even basic performance parameters difficult.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...
