β‐TrCP overexpression enhances cisplatin sensitivity by depleting BRCA1
Low levels of β‐TrCP (Panel A) allow the accumulation of BRCA1 and CtIP, which facilitate the repair of cisplatin‐induced DNA damage via homologous recombination (HR) and promote tumor cell survival. In contrast, high β‐TrCP expression (Panel B) leads to BRCA1 and CtIP degradation, impairing HR repair, resulting in persistent DNA damage and apoptosis ...

Modeling thermo-mechanical fatigue for rolling die under continuous casting process
In the continuous casting process, the rolling die is exposed to non-steady stress conditions that can initiate thermo-mechanical fatigue damage. Understanding the rolling die failure mechanism is essential in metal-forming industries.

Conditions of equivalence of effects for the solid body from incompressible material
Polemicizing with the existing opinion that modern numerical methods allow to solve practically any problem of mechanics, it should be noted that analytical and experimental methods still are relevant, and a complex of methods leads to development of ...

Contact area of rough spheres: Large scale simulations and simple scaling laws
We use molecular simulations to study the nonadhesive and adhesive atomic-scale contact of rough spheres with radii ranging from nanometers to micrometers over more than ten orders of magnitude in applied normal load. At the lowest loads, the interfacial

This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell

Analytical Elastostatic Contact Mechanics of Highly-Loaded Contacts of Varying Conformity
In applications requiring high load carrying capacity, conforming contacting pairs with a relatively large contact footprint are used. These include circular arc, Novikov, and Wildhaber gears found, for example, in helicopter rotors.

Analytical solution of stochastic model of risk-spreading with global coupling
We study a stochastic matrix model to understand the mechanics of risk-spreading (or bet-hedging) by dispersion. Such model has been mostly dealt numerically except for well-mixed case, so far.

We evaluated circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) detection in advanced pancreatic cancer using DNA methylation, cell‐free DNA fragment lengths, and 5′ end motifs. Machine learning models were trained to estimate ctDNA levels from each feature and their combination.

Self-Similar Crossover in Statistical Physics
An analytical method is advanced for constructing interpolation formulae for complicated problems of statistical mechanics, in which just a few terms of asymptotic expansions are available.

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.
