ABSTRACT Wilson disease (WD) is an autosomal recessive disorder of copper metabolism caused by ATP7B mutations. Diagnosis is usually straightforward in symptomatic patients, but can be challenging in children and adolescents with mild liver disease, borderline urinary copper excretion, or inconclusive genetic findings.

Significance of anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies in systemic sclerosis
Background Up to 12% of patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc) have anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA). However, the majority of these patients do not manifest ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV) and the significance of ANCA in these patients is ...

Intermediate Moduli Spaces of Stable Maps [PDF]
We describe the Chow ring with rational coefficients of Mbar_{0,1}(P^n,d) as the subring of invariants of a ring B(Mbar_{0,1}(P^n,d);Q), relative to the action of the group of symmetries S_d.

This graphical abstract summarizes our study in which we established a novel murine model of antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)‐associated vasculitis. Neutrophil recruitment was induced using thioglycolate, followed by timed administration of propylthiouracil and phorbol 12‐myristate 13‐acetate to generate DNase I‐resistant neutrophil ...

Risk Factors for Relapse in Antineutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibody-Associated Vasculitis Among Patients With Relapse After Induction of Remission With Rituximab. [PDF]
Objective The objective of the study was to determine risk factors for relapse of antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)–associated vasculitis (AAV) after reinduction of remission with rituximab and discontinuation of maintenance therapy. Methods This is a post hoc analysis of the RITAZAREM clinical trial.

Prognostic Factors of Renal Involvement in Systemic Sclerosis [PDF]
Background/Aims: Renal involvement is common in systemic sclerosis (SSc), including asymptomatic reduction of glomerular filtration rate (GFR), increased renal resistance indices, scleroderma renal crisis (SRC) and ANCA-associated vasculitis. The aim was

Interlukin‐5 (IL‐5) plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA) by promoting eosinophil differentiation, activation, and survival. We present here a typical case of EGPA in which treatment with IL‐5 pathway inhibitors is prescribed, showing to be beneficial for the patient.

Automatic Reading of ANCA-Slides: Evaluation of the AKLIDES System
The ANCA consensus prescribes screening by indirect immunofluorescence on neutrophils. We evaluated the first automated ANCA-pattern recognition system. C-ANCA and P-ANCA samples were selected from patients with ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV).

Simultaneous automated screening and confirmatory testing for vasculitis-specific ANCA. [PDF]
Anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA) are the serological hallmark of small vessel vasculitis, so called ANCA-associated vasculitis. The international consensus requires testing by indirect immunofluorescence (IIF) on human ethanol-fixed ...
