The study provides descriptions of two new species of Enterogyrus coexisting in the stomach of the Mozambique tilapia, Oreochromis mossambicus (Peters). Enterogyrus multispiralis n. sp. and Enterogyrus mashegoi n. sp. were collected from hosts sampled at Nwanedi-Luphephe Dam, Limpopo River System, South Africa. The two new species can be differentiated

Infections with Empleurosoma pyriforme occur between successive secondary gill lamellae on both sides of the primary lamella of Therapon jarbua. The haptoral disc bears two pairs of anchors and a pair of connecting transverse bars. The attachment of the parasite to the host gill causes inflammation, erosion and degeneration of the gill epithelia.

Salsuginus neotropicalis n. sp. is described from the gills of Belonesox belizanus (Kner), the pike killifish (Poeciliidae), from the southeastern Mexico. S. neotropicalis is distinguished from all other congeners by the morphology of the haptoral sclerites, especially by the presence of a ventral bar with notably enlarged ends, and by possessing ...

The monotypic Philureter n. gen. (Ancyrocephalinae; Dactylogyridae) is proposed to accommodate Philureter trigoniopsis n. sp. with the following features: presence of a cuplike ventral haptor armed with 14 hooks and 2 anchor/bar complexes; dorsal pair of anchors poorly defined and variable in shape, 1 frequently absent; tandem, intercecal gonads ...

The gills of six species of cichlid present in Lake Kariba (Zimbabwe) revealed the presence of twelve species of Cichlidogyrus, five being new species. The parasites were as follows: C. halli (Price & Kirk, 1967) in Oreochromis mortimeri (main host) and Serranochromis macrocephalus (occasional host); C. tilapiae Paperna, 1960 and C. longicornis Paperna
