Salsuginus neotropicalis n. sp. is described from the gills of Belonesox belizanus (Kner), the pike killifish (Poeciliidae), from the southeastern Mexico. S. neotropicalis is distinguished from all other congeners by the morphology of the haptoral sclerites, especially by the presence of a ventral bar with notably enlarged ends, and by possessing ...

During a parasitological survey of Patagonian freshwater fishes, specimens of a new species of Monogenea were collected from the gills of Percichthys trucha (Perciformes: Percichthyidae). This species is described as the only member of a newly proposed genus of Ancyrocephalinae. Duplaccessorius n. gen.

In stomach and bowels of Priacanthus sp. from the Tasmanov sea and the Great Australian Bay Monogenea of the genus Diplectanotrema are found. Probably, it is a real endoparasitization (the second case in Monogenea, subfamily Ancyrocephalinae). A Tim species ??? Diplectanotrema priacanthi sp. n.

Rhinonastes pseudocapsaloideum n. sp. (Dactylogyridae, Ancyrocephalinae) is described from the nasal cavity of Prochilodus nigricans Agassiz (Cypriniformes, Prochilodontidae) in Brazil. Rhinonastes n. gen. is proposed for species possessing a dextroventral genital pore, a bilobed testis, a ventral C-shaped ovary lying between the 2 testicular lobes ...

Infections with Empleurosoma pyriforme occur between successive secondary gill lamellae on both sides of the primary lamella of Therapon jarbua. The haptoral disc bears two pairs of anchors and a pair of connecting transverse bars. The attachment of the parasite to the host gill causes inflammation, erosion and degeneration of the gill epithelia.

Philureter trigoniopsis parasitizes the ureters and urinary bladder of Galaxias maculatus in Patagonian Andean lakes. To investigate factors associated with variation in the prevalence and intensity of this monogenean, fish were sampled periodically over 2 yr in Lake Gutiérrez.
