Heterogeneities in Aging Models of Granular Compaction [PDF]
Kinetically constrained models (KCM) are systems with trivial thermodynamics but often complex dynamical behavior due to constraints on the accessible paths followed by the system. Exploring these properties, the Kob-Andersen (KA) model was introduced to

In this work, we developed a phase‐stability predictor by combining machine learning and ab initio thermodynamics approaches, and identified the key factors determining the favorable phase for a given composition. Specifically, a lower TM ionic potential, higher Na content, and higher mixing entropy favor the O3 phase.

Does Contract Farming Improve Diet Quality? The Case of Senegalese Smallholders
ABSTRACT The institution of contract farming has gained prominence in most developing countries owing to its numerous benefits. While several studies have already highlighted the welfare benefits of contract farming, very few have investigated the effects on diet quality, despite poor quality diets being a serious challenge in most parts of the ...

A Sensitive Plasma Insulin Immunoassay to Establish the Diagnosis of Congenital Hyperinsulinism
BackgroundThe diagnosis of congenital hyperinsulinism (CHI) may be hampered by a plasma (p-) insulin detection limit of 12–18 pmol/L (2–3 mU/L).ObjectiveTo evaluate the diagnostic performance of a sensitive insulin immunoassay and to find the optimal p ...

Anomalous diffusion and generalized Sparre-Andersen scaling
We are discussing long-time, scaling limit for the anomalous diffusion composed of the subordinated L\'evy-Wiener process. The limiting anomalous diffusion is in general non-Markov, even in the regime, where ensemble averages of a mean-square ...

Calculation of Critical Nucleation Rates by the Persistent Embryo Method: Application to Quasi Hard Sphere Models [PDF]
We study crystal nucleation of the Weeks-Chandler-Andersen (WCA) model, using the recently introduced Persistent Embryo Method (PEM). The method provides detailed characterization of pre-critical, critical and post-critical nuclei, as well as nucleation ...
