Inhibitory Activity Towards Angiotensin Converting Enzyme I of Alchemilla vulgaris

open access: yes, 2021
The study was aimed to evaluate the inhibitory activity towards angiotensin converting enzyme I (ACE-I), antioxidant capacity and phenolics of Alchemilla vulgaris (lady’s mantle) naturally grows in Turkey.

Large‐Scale Genomics Reveals Three‐Source Ancestry and Layered Adaptation to High Altitude in Tibetan Chickens

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Whole‐genome analysis of 1,054 chickens reveals three ancestral sources (NWC, SYA, and SHF) with distinct temporal entry patterns into the Tibetan Plateau. Route‐specific selection scans, calibrated against a demographic null, suggest complementary functional enrichments—vascular homeostasis (NWC), calcium signaling and cardiac adaptation (SYA), and ...

Aliskiren, Fosinopril, and Their Outcome on Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System (RAAS) in Rats with Thyroid Dysfunction

open access: yesInternational Journal of Endocrinology, 2019
Background and Objectives. Thyroid hormones have an important role in the growth and development of various tissues including the kidney, which is the major site of renin release and the consequent angiotensin and aldosterone formation.

Tumor‐Induced Splenic Remodeling: Mechanisms of Systemic Immunosuppression and Emerging Therapeutic Opportunities

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Despite the transformative impact of cancer immunotherapies such as immune checkpoint blockade, durable clinical responses remain limited. Increasing evidence indicates that antitumor immunity is governed not only by the tumor microenvironment, but also by systemic immune regulation mediated by peripheral immune organs. Among these, the spleen

Studies on Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme Insertion/Deletion Polymorphism and Genotype Distributions in Turkish Preeclampsia Patients

open access: yesJournal of Pregnancy, 2012
Placental, immune and genetic factors are thought to play an important role in preeclampia (PE)’s pathophysiology. Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme (ACE) plays a vital role in the renin-angiotensin-system (RAS) which regulates blood pressure by converting ...

The renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system during haemodialysis with acetate or bicarbonate at different dialysate sodium concentrations

open access: yes, 1987
The hormones of the renin angiotensin aldosterone system were measured during regular haemodialysis with acetate or bicarbonate at dialysate sodium concentrations of 135, 140, 145, and 150 mmol/l.

The E3 Ligase RNF115 Aggravates Pathological Cardiac Hypertrophy via Ubiquitin‐Mediated Degradation of SPTBN1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In response to hypertrophic stimuli, increased c‑JUN phosphorylation upregulates RNF115, leading to SPTBN1 ubiquitination and degradation. which promotes F‑actin depolymerization and YAP activation, driving cardiac hypertrophy. The RNF115 inhibitor DTD effectively suppresses SPTBN1 ubiquitination and cardiac hypertrophy.

The structure of testis angiotensin-converting enzyme (tACE-g13) in complex with the inhibitor RXPA380

open access: yes, 2006
Includes bibliographical references.Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), a zinc metalloprotease, is a key regulator of the mammalian renin-angiotensin system (RAS) Primarily, ACF is a dipeptidl peptidase which cleaves angiotensin I to produce angiotensin

Mechanical Activation of Piezo1 Drives Osteoarthritis Through Kdm5c‐Mediated Epigenetic Silencing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Excessive mechanical stress activates Piezo1, triggering Ca2+‐dependent cytoskeletal forces that deform the nucleus and reduce H3K4me3. Kdm5c demethylates H3K4me3 at Col2a1 and Runx3 promoters. Kdm5c knockout rescues degradation. Repurposed telmisartan directly inhibits Kdm5c, blocking this axis and showing disease‐modifying efficacy in mouse OA models

Homogeneous assay of rs4343, an ACE I/D proxy, and an analysis in the British Women's Heart and Health Study (BWHHS). [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Current literature suggests that ACE SNP rs4343, ACE 2350A>G in exon 17, T202T, may be the best proxy for the ACE Alu I/D whereas rs4363 and rs4362 may be slightly stronger predictors of ACE levels. Considering reported difficulties in genotyping ACE I/D
