Probing nonstandard interactions with reactor neutrinos

open access: yes, 2008
New limits on the weak mixing angle and on the electron neutrino effective charge radius in the low energy regime, below 100 MeV, are obtained from a combined fit of all electron-(anti)neutrino electron elastic scattering measurements.

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

The Effect of Medication and Deep Brain Stimulation on Posture in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology, 2019
Introduction: Postural abnormalities are common in Parkinson's disease (PD) and increasing with disease progression. While many studies focus on balance and gait, postural alignment is only infrequently studied.Purpose: The aim of the present study was ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Polynomial error approximation of a precision angle measuring system

open access: yesGeodesy and Cartography, 2013
The paper deals with the calibration of a flat angle measuring system. The article describes a comparative method for using a multi-angular prism (polygon) with autocollimator along with an angle measuring system. The components of angle measuring system

A Two-Dimensional Precision Level for Real-Time Measurement Based on Zoom Fast Fourier Transform

open access: yesMicromachines, 2023
This paper proposes a two-dimensional precision level for real-time measurement using a zoom fast Fourier transform (zoom FFT)-based decoupling algorithm that was developed and integrated in an FPGA.

Prospect of polarisation measurements from black hole binaries in their thermal state with a scattering polarimeter

open access: yes, 2011
X-ray polarisation measurement is a unique tool which may provide crucial information regarding the emission mechanism and the geometry of various astrophysical sources, like neutron stars, accreting black holes, pulsar wind nebulae, AGNs, Supernova ...

Measurement of phi_3 with Dalitz Plot Analysis of B+=>D(*)K(*)+ Decay [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Results from the Belle and BaBar experiments on measurement of the weak angle phi_3 using a Dalitz plot analysis of the KSpi+pi- decay of the neutral D meson from the B+=>D(*)K(*)+ process are presented. The method employs the interference between D0 and

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

High-Precision Measurement Method for Small Angles Based on the Defect Spot Mode of the Position-Sensitive Detector

open access: yesSensors
The paper proposes and verifies a small-angle measurement method based on the defect spot mode of the position-sensitive detector (PSD). With the output characteristics of the PSD in the defect spot mode and the size transformation properties of a ...
