An optical angle sensor based on chromatic dispersion with a mode-locked laser source

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2018
This paper proposes a new optical angle sensor, in which a mode-locked laser is employed as the light source, and chromatic dispersion of a collimator objective is utilized to detect the angular displacement of a target of interest.

Early‐life high‐fat diet exposure increases Achilles tendon stiffness and induces transcriptomic alterations

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Integration of Error Compensation of Coordinate Measuring Machines into Feature Measurement: Part II—Experimental Implementation

open access: yesSensors, 2016
Coordinate measuring machines (CMM) are main instruments of measurement in laboratories and in industrial quality control. A compensation error model has been formulated (Part I).

Gamma-ray polarization induced by cold electrons via Compton processes

open access: yes, 2013
The polarization measurement is an important tool to probe the prompt emission mechanism in gamma-ray bursts (GRBs). The synchrotron photons can be scattered by cold electrons in the outflow via Compton scattering processes.

Association of Corticospinal Tract Asymmetry With Ambulatory Ability After Intracerebral Hemorrhage

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Ambulatory ability after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is important to patients. We tested whether asymmetry between ipsi‐ and contra‐lesional corticospinal tracts (CSTs) assessed by diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is associated with post‐ICH ambulation.

Multipath Suppression and High-precision Angle Measurement Method Based on Feature Game Preprocessing

open access: yesLeida xuebao
The meter-wave radar, known for its wide beamwidth, often faces challenges in detecting low-elevation targets due to interference from multipath signals.

Adaptive Control of a Vibratory Angle Measuring Gyroscope

open access: yesSensors, 2010
This paper presents an adaptive control algorithm for realizing a vibratory angle measuring gyroscope so that rotation angle can be directly measured without integration of angular rate, thus eliminating the accumulation of numerical integration errors ...

Glymphatic Dysfunction Reflects Post‐Concussion Symptoms: Changes Within 1 Month and After 3 Months

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) may alter glymphatic function; however, its progression and variability remain obscure. This study examined glymphatic function following mTBI within 1 month and after 3 months post‐injury to determine whether variations in glymphatic function are associated with post‐traumatic symptom severity ...

High-Precision Angle Sensor Based on Angle Amplification via Double-Layer Regular Prism Structure

open access: yesPhotonics
In this paper, a high-precision sensor for angle measurement with angle amplification based on the double-layer regular prisms structure was designed. The angle amplification was achieved by multiple reflections of the measurement laser between the inner

Standard Model Precision Electroweak Measurements at HL-LHC and Future Hadron Colliders

open access: yes, 2015
We investigate the uncertainties for current and future measurements of electroweak (EW) parameters at hadron colliders. These include the measurement of the mass of the top quark ($M_T$), the direct measurement of the mass of the W boson ($M_W^{direct}$)
