Thermally Activated Seizure of Angular Contact Bearings
A S L E Transactions, 1967Equations have been developed relating friction-power to bearing element temperatures for the particular case of prelubricated or lightly lubricated ball bearings. An expression is derived for the change in relative dimensions of an angular contact bearing, as determined by the temperature gradient across the bearing.

Ball motion in angular contact bearings
Tribology, 1968Abstract The nature of the frictional forces and moments applied to an angular contact bearing ball is examined in terms of slip, pivoting, spin and precession. Experimental methods for determining these quantities are given, together with results which indicate that the ball is retainer-controlled for pivoting, and race-controlled for slip.

Diagnosing Faults of Angular Contact Ball Bearing
Volume 3: Dynamic Systems and Controls, Symposium on Design and Analysis of Advanced Structures, and Tribology, 2006This paper presents experimental results for diagnosing faults in angular contact ball bearing in rotating systems such as motors or space actuators that nowadays can be found in a variety of consumer products. Some measuring methods of torque in small motors have been summarized.

Ball Contact Locus in an Angular Contact Bearing
Journal of Lubrication Technology, 1983The path of contact on the surface of a bearing ball is derived for pure spin and regular precession. Ball-race and ball-ball contacts are considered in a retainerless bearing. Track broadening and equatorial offset are found; quantitative experimental agreement is shown.

Fatigue Life Analysis for Angular Contact Ball Bearing with Angular Misalignment
Journal of the Korean Society for Precision Engineering, 2016Angular misalignment has a significant effect on the characteristics of angular contact ball bearings (ACBBs). This paper presents an analysis of fatigue life for ACBBs subjected to angular misalignment. A simulation model is developed with de Mul’s bearing model and the ISO basic reference rating life model.

Motion of a Ball in Angular-Contact Ball Bearing
A S L E Transactions, 1965The author carried out an experimental investigation on the motion of a ball in an angular-contact ball bearing under thrust load by measuring change in magnetic flux induced by a magnetized ball. The observed data of the angular velocity of the ball and that of the cage were adequate for analyzing the kinematical condition in the bearing.

The effect of preload of angular contact ball bearings on durability of bearing system
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part J: Journal of Engineering Tribology, 2014Angular contact ball bearings are commonly used in such situations when you need to reach high bearing stiffness. However, a significant stiffness increase can be achieved only through the introduction of preload to the angular contact bearings. The purpose of this paper is to present a method for assessing the effect of preload of the angular contact ...

Contact Analysis for the Critical Shoulder Height in Angular Contact Ball Bearing
Tribology Transactions, 2011A method to determine the shoulder height in an angular contact ball bearing using a 3D contact analysis is proposed. The load analysis was performed by calculating the distributions of internal loads and contact angles for each rolling element. From the results of the bearing load analysis and the contact geometry between the ball and raceways, 3D ...

Slip Measurement in an Angular Contact Ball Bearing
Journal of Lubrication Technology, 1983An experimental method for ball-race slip measurement that includes a method for determining the geometry of an assembled bearing from easily and accurately measured parameters is presented herein. Slip measurements taken with four fluid lubricants are discussed in terms of quantity, structure, bulk properties, and degradation.

Contact Analysis for the Critical Shoulder Height in Angular Contact Ball Bearing
Advanced Materials Research, 2012A numerical method to determine the shoulder height in the angular contact ball bearing using 3D contact analysis is proposed. The load analysis of a ball bearing was performed to calculate the distributions of internal loads and contact angles of each rolling element.
