EHD Modeling of Angular Contact Ball Element Bearings
2015The objective of this work is the study of the dynamic of angular contact ball element bearings considering the elastohydrodynamic lubrication. A computational model was built to foresee the dynamic behavior influence on the lubrication condition of those components.

Effect of race conformities in angular contact ball bearing
Tribology International, 2016Abstract The determination of race conformity of ball bearing is mainly based on the classical fatigue life theory; however, besides the fatigue life, skidding may also become the main concern due to high frictional heating in high-speed application; therefore the strategy of race conformity determination should be changed accordingly.

Angular Contact Ball Bearings: Track Position at High Speeds
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, 1969The track position of the balls on the outer race of an angular contact bearing of the series and size used on the main shaft of aero gas turbine engines was measured in a test rig. The test rig was capable of simulating the operating conditions of the bearing with respect to axial load, inner race speed and high lubricant flow rates.

Angular Contact Ball Bearings for a Rear Axle Differential
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2003<div class="htmlview paragraph">In passenger car axle differentials, axially preloaded tapered roller bearings have been used exclusively since their rigidity and life are sufficient for this application. In real life applications, the bearing preload during transmission life is reduced due to wear in the contact between the roller and the rib ...

Dynamic characteristics of high speed angular contact ball bearings
Wear, 1997Abstract A theoretical research was developed concerning the rigidity and damping characteristics of high speed angular contact ball bearings mounted on grinding machine main spindles. Both film squeeze effects and elastic deformation of the Hertzian contact were considered and an adequate dynamic model is suggested. To validate the results obtained,

Modeling angular contact ball bearing without raceway control hypothesis
Mechanism and Machine Theory, 2014Abstract Modeling study of angular contact ball bearing, which is subjected to a combined action of radial, axial and moment loads, is performed in this paper. The centrifugal force and the gyroscopic moment are especially considered. To analyze the spin-to-roll ratios at both ball-outer and ball-inner raceway contacts simultaneously, the model ...

Motion of a Ball in Angular-Contact Ball Bearing
A S L E Transactions, 1965The author carried out an experimental investigation on the motion of a ball in an angular-contact ball bearing under thrust load by measuring change in magnetic flux induced by a magnetized ball. The observed data of the angular velocity of the ball and that of the cage were adequate for analyzing the kinematical condition in the bearing.

Ball Motion Perturbation in an Angular-Contact Ball Bearing
A S L E Transactions, 1982Spectral analysis of changes in the angular velocity vector of a bearing ball can be used to follow changes in ball-lubricant-race coupling in starved operation. Simultaneous measurements of basic speed ratio confirm the changes up to and through a lubricant breakdown failure. Presented at the 36th Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, May 11–14,
