Angular distortion of Si clusters in a-SiC

Europhysics Letters (EPL), 2001
In this letter we report on the unusually large bond angle distortion of silicon clusters in an amorphous silicon carbide matrix. The samples, produced by Ar+ ion irradiation of single crystal 6H-SiC, have been analyzed by Raman spectroscopy. The apperance of both Si-Si and C-C related bands points to the formation of silicon and carbon clusters in the

Analysis of angular distortion in line-heating

International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, 2007
A simplified analytical model for prediction of deformations of metal plates due to line-heating process is presented. In the present work, a formula for plate deformation produced by line-heating in terms of process parameters such as heat input and plate dimensions is developed analytically using an eigenstrain concept.

Determining Angular and Linear Distortions on the Map Base

Journal of Surveying Engineering, 2000
The effects of dimensional changes on the base materials of maps and plans produced for engineering and cadastral purposes are studied from a different perspective. First, physical specifications of the map base materials and minimum conditions that could cause deformations are discussed.

Distorted angular distribution of the 2p photoelectrons in argon

Physica Scripta, 2013
Two consecutive hemispherical electron energy analyzers have been used to measure the argon angular distribution of 2p photoelectron lines over two quadrants of the dipole plane. A significant anomaly in the intensity of the photolines is observed at several electron emission angles, suggesting asymmetry with respect to the electric field vector of ...

Expanding Angles? Systematic Distortions of Space Involving Angular Figures

Perception, 1977
Using simple, single angular figures, including figures containing only one line, we have shown systematic misestimations of distance defined by these figures. These misestimations are not related to the absolute distance per se, but are related both to the size of the angle defining the distance, and to the part of the angle defining it.

Lattice Distortion Oriented Angular Self-Assembly of Monolayer Titania Sheets

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2010
Self-assembly of exfoliated monolayer titania sheets is investigated by detailed transmission electron microscopy and the force field calculations. It is demonstrated for the first time that slight but significant lattice distortions result in modified angular self-assembly of exfoliated monolayer Ti(0.87)O(2) sheets.

Development of Timing Component for Angular Distortion Measurement System

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
A timing component is developed in order to achieve the synchronization between measuring system and external devices. The function of timing system, as well as the data switching driver based on twin port RAM and interrupt response driver developed by using DDK (Driver Development Kit), are introduced in this paper.

Effect of external load on angular distortion in fillet welding

Materials & Design, 2012
Abstract This paper studied the effects of the magnitude, the direction, and the release time of pre-tensioning stress on welding distortion and residual stress on thin steels for a ship in the pre-tensioning method above using the finite element method.

Application of Computer Control in the Angular Distortion Measurement System

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
A new real-time angular distortion measurement system, composed of devices i.e. the photoelectrical auto-collimating collimator and the reflex light-tube installed on deck, is developed in this paper. Real-time measurement of vessels bi-dimensional angular distortion is achieved by using this computer control system.

Angular Distortion Due to Fillet Welding and Its Straightening

Journal of Ship Production, 2000
In order to increase the productivity of shipbuilding to respond to current situations such as decreasing numbers of skilled workers and aging of workers in the shipyard, mechanization and robotization have been accelerated. To apply them effectively, the current fabrication and assembling system of ship hull has to be reviewed so that the dimensional ...
