Ligand Assisted Epitaxial Growth of CsPbBr3 Microcrystal Resonators With Record ‐Low Lasing Thresholds

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Solution‐based ligand‐assisted epitaxial growth (LAEG) yields high‐quality CsPbBr3 microcrystals on different substrates with superior morphology, passivated surfaces, and high photoluminescence quantum yield. These robust micro‐resonators achieve record‐low room‐temperature lasing thresholds of 7.2 kW·cm−2 and maintain operational stability up to 90 ...

Role of Structural Disorder on Phonon Transport and Thermal Conductivity in Li6PS5Br

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Solid electrolytes are fast ion and slow heat conductors. Although both transport properties are governed by lattice dynamics and atomic structure, their interplay remains poorly understood. Here, we study this interrelation in anion‐ordered and disordered Li6PS5Br.

Magneto‐Ionic Devices With Polymer‐Based Electrolytes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Polymer electrolytes are introduced for magneto‐ionic devices based on hydroxide and hydrogen ions. The magneto‐ionic effect results in a pronounced voltage‐controlled variation of coercivity in both devices. The switching speed is in the range of 100 ms.

Tetrafluoroterephthalonitrile as an anion‐π donor: theoretical evaluation and application to anion recognition

open access: yes
International audienceThe ability of perfluorinated terephthalonitrile to act as an anion‐π donor fragment in anion receptors is evaluated. New receptors combining an urea and a perfluorinated terephthalonitrile motif into a single architecture have been

The Effect of Hydrophilic Headgroup Chemistry on Peptoid‐Directed Mineralization of CaCO3

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Amphiphilic peptoids alter the pathway and outcome of calcium carbonate crystallization, which progresses through amorphous calcium carbonate (ACC) to vaterite to calcite rhombs in the absence of peptoids. In contrast, amine‐terminated peptoids produce vaterite disks and carboxyl‐terminated peptoids produce calcite mesocrystals.

Supramolecular Chemistry of Selective Anion Recognition for Anions of Environmental Relevance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The major thrust of this project, led by the University of Kansas (Prof. Kristin Bowman-James), entails an exploration of the basic determinants of anion recognition and their application to the design, synthesis, and testing of novel sulfate extractants.

Insulating‐Passivating Interfaces for Narrow‐Bandgap Tin‐Lead Perovskites Enable High‐Photovoltage in Single‐ and Double‐Junction Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Combining field‐effect surface passivation of a narrow‐bandgap tin–lead perovskite by diammonium ions with introducing oleyl‐based amphiphiles to create insulating interface layers between the absorber and the adjacent hole and electron transporting layers increases the open‐circuit voltage to 91.5% of the detailed‐balance limit and enhances the power ...

Neuromorphic Devices for Extreme Environments: State‐Variable Reliability and Stabilization Strategies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Neuromorphic devices for extreme environments are interpreted through the physical states that store and process information. Radiation, temperature extremes, and vacuum can perturb vacancies, filaments, trapped charges, polarization, interfaces, and readout signals.
