Anion Recognition through Multivalent C–H Hydrogen Bonds: Anion-Induced Foldamer Formation and Transport across Phospholipid Membranes

open access: yes
A series of triazole–cyanostilbene receptors were designed and synthesized. The receptor binds with the anions through various CH···anion hydrogen bonding interactions, where strong binding was observed for SO42– anions followed by Cl–, Br–, NO3–, and I–,

Synthesis of N-Benzamidoureas and Its Anion Recognition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Three N-(substituted-benzamido)urea-based receptors (substituent=p-OC2H5, H, p-Cl) 1 similar to 3, were designed and synthesized. Their interactions with anions such as CH3CO2-, F-, H2PO4, ClO4-, Cl and Br- in acetonitrile were investigated by using ...

Reversible Calcium Alloying on Bulk and Indium (Sub)‐Micro Negative Electrodes for Calcium‐Based Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Description: Indium metal serves as a reversible calcium‐alloying negative electrode. By transitioning from planar electrodes to powders and (sub‐)micron indium particles, the specific surface area is increased, improving the areal capacity density and cycling stability for calcium‐based batteries.

NMR studies of anion-induced conformational changes in diindolylureas and diindolylthioureas

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2011
The conformational properties of 1,3-diindolylureas and thioureas were studied by a combination of heteronuclear NMR spectroscopy and quantum mechanics calculations.

Halide Composition Controls Phase Morphology and Device Specific Performance in Perovskite Photovoltaics and Light Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate that halide composition determines phase morphology, governing distinct operating mechanisms in mixed halide perovskites. Phase segregating 75% Br compositions enhance solar cell performance, whereas intrinsically phase‐separated 95% Br compositions provide stable light emitting diodes.

Fluoride-driven ‘turn on’ ESPT in the binding with a novel benzimidazole-based sensor

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2015
A novel fluorescence sensor (BIP) bearing NH and OH subunits displayed a highly selective and sensitive recognition property for fluoride over other anions.

Particle‐Level ZrO2 Atomic Layer Deposition Enables Fast‐Cycling and Long‐Life Graphite Cathodes for Dual‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A spatial location of atomic layer deposition (ALD)‐derived ZrO2 coatings is demonstrated to be a critical design parameter for stabilizing graphite cathodes in DIBs. Direct particle‐level ALD (PALD) screening of representative metal oxides identified ZrO2 as the coating that provides the most favorable balance of high‐rate capability and interfacial ...

Engineering a Fluorinated AlPO4 Interface: Toward High Initial Coulombic Efficiency and Stable Oxygen Redox in Li‐Rich Layered Oxide Cathodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We report a chemically incorporated fluorinated AlPO4 (AlPO4‐F) architecture that functions as a multifunctional “interfacial fortress” for Li‐rich layered oxides (LLOs). By modulating the surface potential to –32.16 mV, this architecture enriches Li+ concentration and repels detrimental electrolyte anions.

Decoupling Li+ Transport in Self‐Healing Polymer Dual‐Salt Electrolytes for Room Temperature Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐healable polymer matrix, crosslinked via dynamic imine bonds, is synergistically coupled with a LiPF6–LiDFOB dual‐salt system to decouple Li+ from the polymer matrix, enabling fast Li+ transport. This strategy offers an effective pathway toward high‐performance, next‐generation gel‐polymer‐based Li‐metal batteries.

Voltammetric Sensing of Chloride Based on a Redox-Active Complex: A Terpyridine-Co(II)-Dipyrromethene Functionalized Anion Receptor Deposited on a Gold Electrode

open access: yesMolecules
A redox-active complex containing Co(II) connected to a terpyridine (TPY) and dipyrromethene functionalized anion receptor (DPM-AR) was created on a gold electrode surface.
