Enhancing Low‐Temperature Performance of Sodium‐Ion Batteries via Anion‐Solvent Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DOL is introduced into electrolytes as a co‐solvent, increasing slat solubility, ion conductivity, and the de‐solvent process, and forming an anion‐rich solvent shell due to its high interaction with anion. With the above virtues, the batteries using this electrolyte exhibit excellent cycling stability at low temperatures. Abstract Sodium‐ion batteries

Tripodal receptors for the transmembrane transport of anions [PDF]

open access: yes
openMany new synthetic anion receptors are continuously being developed. However, only a limited number of these hosts have been evaluated for their ability to transport anions across lipid bilayers, due to a specific requirement for an ionophore to ...

Dissecting the chloride–nitrate anion transport assay [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
A systematic study of chloride vs. nitrate selectivity across six anion transporters has revealed a good correlation between the selectivities of their anion binding and membrane transport properties.

Human Organic Anion Transporter 4 Is a Renal Apical Organic Anion/Dicarboxylate Exchanger in the Proximal Tubules

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2004
Human organic anion transporter OAT4 is expressed in the kidney and placenta and mediates high-affinity transport of estrone-3-sulfate (E1S). Because a previous study demonstrated no trans-stimulatory effects by E1S, the mode of organic anion transport ...

DNA‐Templated 2D Heterostructures as Phototriggered Dynamic Nanohybrids: From Releasing Molecular Loads to Controlling Enzyme Biocatalytic Function

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DNA strands are employed both as dynamic linkers and nanoscale templates for the integration of Ag2S nanoparticles on MoS2, which in turn imparted photothermal responsiveness; this feature permits the selective cargo (fluorophore, quantum dots or an enzyme) release from the MoS2 surface in response to local heat induced by light irradiation.

Interactions of Human Organic Anion Transporters With Aristolochic Acids

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2010
Aristolochic acids (AAs), contained in Chinese herbal preparations, have been considered to induce nephropathy. In order to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of AA-induced nephrotoxicity, we have elucidated the interaction of human organic anion ...

Counterion Dependent Side‐Chain Relaxation Stiffens a Chemically Doped Thienothiophene Copolymer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Oxidation of a thienothiophene copolymer, p(g3TT‐T2), via different doping strategies and dopant molecules resulted in materials with similar oxidation levels and a high electrical conductivity of ≈100 S cm−1. However, mechanical properties varied significantly, with sub‐glass transition temperatures and elastic moduli spanning from –44°C to –3°C and ...

Slc4-like anion transporters of the larval mosquito alimentary canal. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Mosquito larvae exhibit luminal pH extremes along the axial length of their alimentary canal that range from very alkaline (pH > 10) in the anterior midgut to slightly acid in the hindgut.

Imidazolium-Based Anion Exchange Membranes for Alkaline Anion Fuel Cells: Interplay between Morphology and Anion Transport Behavior [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We studied anion transport behaviors in grafted anion exchange membranes (AEMs) composed of 2-methyl-N-vinylimidazole (Im) and styrene (St) having various Im/St ratios (6/4, 4/6, and 3/7) grafted onto poly(ethylene-co-tetrafluoroethylene) films (named ...

Dual‐Ionic Weakly Solvating Electrolyte Design Enables Efficient Fast‐Cycling of High‐Voltage Anion Shuttle Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Electrolytes shape solvation structures that govern ionic transport, stability, and interfacial properties in energy storage systems. Sodium‐based dual‐ion shuttling systems offer high‐voltage and fast‐charging potential but face challenges such as ...
