The genus Anisakis represents one of the most widespread groups of ascaridoid nematodes in the marine ecosystem. Three closely related taxa are recognized in the Anisakis simplex (s. l.) complex: A. pegreffii, A. simplex (s. s.) and A. berlandi. They are

ABSTRACT The nematode Dictyocaulus viviparus causes parasitic bronchitis in cattle. There is a vaccine based on irradiated larvae against this parasite. However, no memory response is induced, and donor calves are needed for culturing the larvae. Therefore, a well‐defined subunit vaccine would be welcomed.

Additional records of metazoan parasites from Caribbean marine mammals, including genetically identified anisakid nematodes [PDF]
Studies of marine mammal parasites in the Caribbean are scarce. An assessment for marine mammal endo- and ectoparasites from Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, but extending to other areas of the Caribbean, was conducted between 1989 and 1994.

Trends in Anisakis simplex Global Research: A Bibliometric Analysis Study
Objective: Anisakis simplex is a fish-borne zoonotic parasite. Although this parasite has been known since the 19th century, publications on anisakiasis have increased in recent years. Despite this, this subject has yet to be well studied by bibliometric

Quality of Fish Muscle Infested with Anisakis simplex [PDF]
Marine fish species infested with Anisakidae larvae are reported in many fishing grounds. Besides the problems related to consumer’s health when the live larvae are ingested (anisakidosis) or to allergic problems caused by the larvae, the products excreted/secreted or released by the larvae are recognized as proteases, protease inhibitors or ...
