Condensation and partial pressure change as a major cause of airflow: Experimental evidence
The dominant model of atmospheric circulation is based on the notion that hot air rises, creating horizontal winds. A second major driver has been proposed [1] in the biotic pump theory (BPT), by which intense condensation is the prime cause of surface ...

Anisotropic Diffusion in Anisotropic Stepanov Spaces
Summary: We consider a problem on the image processing and computer vision. A wide range of methods allows to solve problems of this type. The methods of partial differential equations are the most useful and interesting ones. A non-linear diffusion takes special place in these studies.

Anisotropic subdiffractive solitons [PDF]
We study solitons in the two-dimensional defocusing nonlinear Schroedinger equation with the spatio-temporal modulation of the external potential. The spatial modulation is due to a square lattice; the resulting macroscopic diffraction is rotationally symmetric in the long-wavelength limit but becomes anisotropic for shorter wavelengths.

Multi-region relaxed magnetohydrodynamics with anisotropy and flow
We present an extension of the multi-region relaxed magnetohydrodynamics (MRxMHD) equilibrium model that includes pressure anisotropy and general plasma flows.

The McCance Brain Care Score and Mortality: Evidence From a Large‐Scale Population‐Based Cohort
ABSTRACT Objectives This study aimed to examine the relationship between the McCance Brain Care Score (BCS) and mortality in the general population. Methods We conducted a prospective, population‐based cohort study using data from the UK Biobank. Participants with complete data enabling calculation of BCS and full mortality information were included ...

The developed laminar structure of shale makes it possess obvious anisotropic characteristics, and these anisotropic characteristics are one of the important factors leading to the strong and weak heterogeneous properties of shale. Additionally, there is

Isotope Effect in the Translation-Invariant Bipolaron Theory of High-Temperature Superconductivity
It is shown that the translation-invariant bipolaron theory of superconductivity can explain the dependence of the isotope coefficient in high-temperature superconductors on the critical temperature of a superconducting transition: in the case of strong ...

Association of Corticospinal Tract Asymmetry With Ambulatory Ability After Intracerebral Hemorrhage
ABSTRACT Background Ambulatory ability after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is important to patients. We tested whether asymmetry between ipsi‐ and contra‐lesional corticospinal tracts (CSTs) assessed by diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is associated with post‐ICH ambulation.

The effect of a hypocycloid irregularity on torsional surface waves in a multilayer system [PDF]
The present topic is devoted to investigating the effects of semi four-cusped hypocycloid irregularity on torsional surface waves in an initially stressed anisotropic porous medium situated between two anisotropic nonhomogeneous semi-infinite spaces. The
