A 3D biomimetic OS model was developed by bioprinting an OS‐cell‐derived dECM‐enriched bioink with OS spheroids incorporated. The model showed upregulation of known OS prognostic markers and increased resistance to doxorubicin, compared to 2D cultures and scaffold‐free spheroids, making this a more clinically relevant platform for drug discovery ...

A genome-wide analysis of annexins from parasitic organisms and their vectors
In this study, we conduct an in-depth analysis of annexin proteins from a diverse range of invertebrate taxa, including the major groups that contain the parasites and vector organisms that are harmful to humans and domestic animals.

Biochemical studies have suggested that annexin 2 (A2) may participate in cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection. In the current work, effects of A2 monomer (p36) and heterotetramer (A2t; p362p112) were investigated. Demonstrating a role for endogenous A2, the four stages of infection that were followed were each inhibited by anti-p36 or anti-p11 at 37 °C ...

Patient‐derived cardiac organoids reveal key features of Duchenne muscular dystrophy cardiomyopathy, including apoptosis, oxidative stress, calcium handling defects, and mechanical remodeling. By integrating organoids into alginate–gelatin bioprinted constructs, disease phenotypes are organized into scalable 3D cardiac tissues displaying extracellular ...

Role of the Annexin A protein family in liver diseases: insights and therapeutic opportunities
The Annexin (ANXA) protein family, which is ubiquitously expressed across various tissues, encodes versatile calcium (Ca2+)- and phospholipid-binding proteins that play crucial roles in modulating inflammation and cell signaling pathways.

We developed a novel copper‐doped aluminum nano‐adjuvant (CuNA) to overcome cytarabine resistance in acute myeloid leukemia (AML). CuNA effectively sensitizes drug‐resistant AML cells to cytarabine by inducing mitochondrial dysfunction and inhibiting HMGCR/GPX4 to amplify ferroptosis.

Magnetic Ion Channel Activation (MICA) enables remote stimulation of mechanosensitive ion channels using functionalised magnetic nanoparticles, enhancing extracellular vesicle (EV) biogenesis is pre‐osteoblasts. MICA desrived EVs exhibit typical nano‐vesicular characteristics but display superior pro‐osteogeneic activity, promoting mesenchymal stem ...

Cell surface annexins regulate ADAM-mediated ectodomain shedding of proamphiregulin
Ectodomain shedding of EGFR ligands by ADAM17 is a key step of transactivation of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and the downstream signaling network.
