Association of miR-938 rs2505901 T > C polymorphism with reduced risk of venous malformations in a Chinese population

open access: yesScientific Reports
Venous malformations are a common congenital vascular disorder. MicroRNAs are micro non-coding RNAs that are responsible for regulating the expression of genes after transcription.

Unprecedented Spin‐Lifetime of Itinerant Electrons in Natural Graphite Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Graphite exhibits extraordinary spintronic potential, with electron spin lifetimes reaching 1,000 ns at room temperature ‐ over 100 times longer than graphene‐based devices. Magnetic resonance spectroscopy reveals strong anisotropy: out‐of‐plane spins live 50 times longer than their in‐plane counterparts.

Structure of Anomalies of 4d SCFTs from M5-branes, and Anomaly Inflow

open access: yes, 2018
We study the 't Hooft anomalies of four-dimensional superconformal field theories that arise from M5-branes wrapped on a punctured Riemann surface. In general there are two independent contributions to the anomalies.

Magnetic and Structural Response Tuned by Coexisting Mn Concentration‐Dependent Phases in MnBi2Te4 Thin Film Grown on GaAs(001) by Molecular Beam Epitaxy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The study explores structural and magnetic properties of one of the most recent topological quantum materials (MnBi2Te4). The Mn‐poor structure leads to stacking faults (quintuple layer ‐ QL of Bi2Te3 formation instead of a septuple layer ‐ SL of MnBi2Te4), resulting in a coexistence between weak antiferromagnetism and ferromagnetism.

More About Discrete Gauge Anomalies

open access: yes, 1992
I discuss and extend several results concerning the cancellation of discrete gauge anomalies. I show how heavy fermions do not decouple in the presence of discrete gauge anomalies.

High‐Rate FA‐Based Co‐Evaporated Perovskites: Understanding Rate Limitations and Practical Considerations to Overcome Their Impact

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Vacuum‐based deposition is promising for perovskite solar cells to be successfully commercialized. However, co‐evaporation, the most common vapor phase deposition technique, suffers from very low deposition rates. In this work, we reveal that high deposition rates can lead to carbon flakes depositing into the perovskite absorber layers due to material ...

Characterization of congenital craniofacial anomalies in a specialized hospital of Risaralda, Colombia. 2010-2014

open access: yesRevista de la Facultad de Medicina, 2018
Introduction: Congenital craniofacial malformations have a major impact on the lives of children and their relatives when the face is compromised since they may present along with cognitive deficits or altered facial appearance.

Universal bundle for gravity, local index theorem, and covariant gravitational anomalies

open access: yes, 1993
Consistent and covariant Lorentz and diffeomorphism anomalies are investigated in terms of the geometry of the universal bundle for gravity. This bundle is explicitly constructed and its geometrical structure will be studied.

Spectrally Tunable 2D Material‐Based Infrared Photodetectors for Intelligent Optoelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Intelligent optoelectronics through spectral engineering of 2D material‐based infrared photodetectors. Abstract The evolution of intelligent optoelectronic systems is driven by artificial intelligence (AI). However, their practical realization hinges on the ability to dynamically capture and process optical signals across a broad infrared (IR) spectrum.

Medication use during pregnancy and the risk of gastroschisis: a systematic review and meta-analysis of observational studies

open access: yesOrphanet Journal of Rare Diseases
Objectives The aetiology of gastroschisis is considered multifactorial. We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to assess whether the use of medications during pregnancy, is associated with the risk of gastroschisis in offspring.
