Jasmonate-induced defense mechanisms in the belowground antagonistic interaction between Pythium arrhenomanes and Meloidogyne graminicola in rice [PDF]
Next to their essential roles in plant growth and development, phytohormones play a central role in plant immunity against pathogens. In this study we studied the previously reported antagonism between the plant-pathogenic oomycete Pythium arrhenomanes ...

Abstract A series of compounds which antagonise the depressant activity of morphine in dogs is described. The most active compounds are the previously described 2:4-diamino-5-phenylthiazole and tetrahydro-5-aminoacridine. A mixture of both substances is more active than either alone.

A novel mechanism of RNase L inhibition: Theiler\u27s virus L* protein prevents 2-5A from binding to RNase L [PDF]
The OAS/RNase L pathway is one of the best-characterized effector pathways of the IFN antiviral response. It inhibits the replication of many viruses and ultimately promotes apoptosis of infected cells, contributing to the control of virus spread ...

The case for absolute ligand discrimination : modeling information processing and decision by immune T cells [PDF]
Some cells have to take decision based on the quality of surroundings ligands, almost irrespective of their quantity, a problem we name "absolute discrimination". An example of absolute discrimination is recognition of not-self by immune T Cells. We show

Attenuation of Antidepressant Effects of Ketamine by Opioid Receptor Antagonism.
OBJECTIVE: In addition to N-methyl-d-aspartate receptor antagonism, ketamine produces opioid system activation. The objective of this study was to determine whether opioid receptor antagonism prior to administration of intravenous ketamine attenuates its
