3D printed feed-chain and antenna components

2017 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation & USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting, 2017
This paper presents a set of additive manufactured (AM) monolithic waveguide-based feed-chain and antenna components, namely a Ku-band diplexer, a Ka-band dual-polarized directional antenna and W-band straight waveguides. These components provide representative examples of the current capabilities of AM technologies.

Fiber-optic feed for phased array antennas

Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics, 1986
A phased array antenna usually consists of a set of nearly identical elemental antennas positioned in an aperture to provide Nyquist spatial sampling for some angular field of view normal to that aperture. The phase of each element is controlled so that the far-field pattern from the array, the 2-D Fourier transform of the aperture field distribution ...

A multi-feed antenna for antenna-level power combining

2016 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation (APSURSI), 2016
This paper proposes a multi-feed antenna structure that synthesizes the desired radiation characteristics with antenna-level power combining. Compared with an antenna array that spatially combines the radiation E-field and H-field at the far-field, the proposed multi-feed antenna combines the radiation power from different feeds directly on the antenna.

Multi-feed compared with single-feed end-fire antenna

2008 8th International Symposium on Antennas, Propagation and EM Theory, 2008
A new method of designing an end-fire plate antenna structure is presented in this paper. To improve directivity and gain, different number of short end-fire antennas located along axis direction instead of single long end-fire plate antenna. Compare with traditional single-feed plate antenna, multi-feed structure has excellent performances.

Linear-array antennas and feeds

1984
The problems and techniques of linear-array design have been divided in this chapter into three general parts. The first concerns itself with general pattern theory, that is, the relation between the far-zone pattern of an array and the amplitude and phase distribution among the elements and their spacing; in this section no attention is paid to the ...

Dielectric Feeds for Reflector Antennas

1975 5th European Microwave Conference, 1975
Special dielectric antennas used as elements for a feed of multi-beam or limited-scan reflector antennas have been developed. As a result of the close arrangement of the feed elements, their cross-sectional dimensions must be small and their mutual coupling should be as low as possible.

Microwave dipole antennas and feeds

1984
The early trends in microwave antenna design grew out of the practice of using dipole systems at longer wavelengths. Nevertheless, little systematic information has been obtained about microwave dipole systems. This is partly due to the greater difficulty in applying theory to practically useful microwave dipoles and partly to the urgent military needs
