Modifcation of anthelmintic drugs by nanotechnology (review)

open access: yesРоссийский паразитологический журнал, 2022
The purpose of the research is to analyze and summarize the literature data and the results of our own studies on the use of drug delivery systems and methods for increasing the solubility and efcacy of anthelmintic drugs.Helminthoses are one of the most

Anthelmintic drugs [PDF]

open access: yesWormBook, 2007
C. elegans is sensitive to the majority of anthelmintic drugs that are used against parasitic worm infections of humans and livestock. This has provided the opportunity to use molecular genetic techniques in the worm for mode of action studies. These approaches continue to be of considerable value to the field of parasitology.

The Effect of the Manure from Sheep Treated with Anthelmintics on Clover (Trifolium pratense)

open access: yesAgronomy, 2021
The anthelmintics (regularly administered to livestock to control the infections caused by parasitic worms) and their metabolites formed in treated animals are excreted to the environment.

An automated, high-resolution phenotypic assay for adult Brugia malayi and microfilaria [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Brugia malayi are thread-like parasitic worms and one of the etiological agents of Lymphatic filariasis (LF). Existing anthelmintic drugs to treat LF are effective in reducing the larval microfilaria (mf) counts in human bloodstream but are less effective on adult parasites.

The importance of secondary metabolites in the control of gastrointestinal nematodes in sheep with emphasis on Yucatán, Mexico

open access: yesJournal of the Selva Andina Animal Science, 2018
The use of plants rich in tannins (PRT) with anthelmintic properties (AH) is an alternative for the control of gastrointestinal nematodes (NGI) in species of cattle interest.

Identification of an Activity Selector for the Nitroso‐Forming Activity in Bacterial Type‐III Copper Enzymes

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Small but crucial difference: Type‐III copper enzymes, like tyrosinase (TYR) and o‐aminophenol oxidase (AO), catalyze the oxidation of o‐aminophenols (AP) to quinone imines. Unlike TYR, AO can further oxidize AP to nitrosophenols. This nitroso‐forming activity is controlled by a key amino acid near the Cu(A) ion.

Calotropis procera Latex Extract as an Effective Green Corrosion Inhibitor for Mild Steel in Acidic Medium: Experimental and Quantum Chemical Approaches

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this work, Calotropis procera latex extract (CPLE) was evaluated as an environmentally benign corrosion inhibition on mild steel in 1‐M HCl using gravimetric, electrochemical, surface, and computational approaches. The results revealed that CPLE exhibited an efficient corrosion inhibitor with the efficiency of 94.26% and 93.10% at 200‐ppm ...

Visible Light‐Mediated Preparation of a Key Intermediate Employed in the Synthesis of Zolpidem and Several Analogs

open access: yesChemistry – An Asian Journal, EarlyView.
A new visible light‐induced method is reported for the C3‐alkylation of imidazo[1,2‐a]pyrimidines and ‐pyridines with aryldiazoacetates. This protocol can be performed in open air and serves as a convenient entry to several known and new molecules. A formal synthesis of zolpidem is achieved by changing the alkylating agent to an appropriate hypervalent
