Antioxidant properties of anthocyanidins, anthocyanidin-3-glucosides and respective portisins

Food Chemistry, 2010
The study of the antioxidants properties of three classes of pigments, namely anthocyanidins (cyanidin-Cy, delphinidin-Dp and malvidin-Mv), anthocyanidin-3-glucosides (Cy-3-gluc, Dp-3-gluc and Mv-3-gluc), and portisins (Cy-pt, Dp-pt and Mv-pt) was carried out.

Research progress of proanthocyanidins and anthocyanidins

Phytotherapy Research, 2023
AbstractProanthocyanidins (PA) are polyphenol compounds that are widely distributed in the bark, fruit core, skin, or seeds of various plants. Anthocyanidins are water‐soluble natural pigments widely found in plants. They are all flavonoids, a major coloring substance in plants and fruits.

Anthocyanidins from leucoanthocyanidins

Phytochemistry, 1965
High acid strength and small amounts of iron have been effectively combined to improve the yield of anthocyanidins from leucoanthocyanidins over that obtained by currently used methods. An improved method for routine estimation of leucoanthocyanidins in plant extracts is outlined.

Structure–activity relationships of anthocyanidin glycosylation

Molecular Diversity, 2014
This paper summarizes the main achievements about the structure-activity relationships of anthocyanidin glycosylation. Anthocyanidin glycosylation is the essential step of anthocyanin biosynthesis and also the prerequisite of the further modifications of anthocyanins, which is jointly characterized by the glycosylation site, the type and number of the ...

Estrogenic Activity of Naturally Occurring Anthocyanidins

Nutrition and Cancer, 2001
Anthocyanins, which are natural plant pigments from the flavonoid family, represent substantial constituents of the human diet. Because some other bioflavonoids are known to have estrogenic activity, the aim of this study was to determine the estrogenic activity of the anthocyanine aglycones.
