Design, Synthesis, and Biological Evaluation of Anthracene Derivatives as Potent Antioxidants: Experimental, DFT, and Docking Studies

A series of anthracene‐based derivatives exhibited exceptional antioxidant activity, with IC50 values surpassing ascorbic acid. DFT and molecular docking studies revealed efficient charge transfer and strong Keap1/Nrf2 binding, highlighting their potential as promising therapeutic agents against oxidative stress.

Antiaromaticity‐Driven Enhancement of Single‐Molecule Electrical Conductance by s‐Indacene Molecular Bridges

Within the same molecular length scale, antiaromatic s‐indacene exhibits a marked increase in conductance compared to its aromatic benzodithiophene counterpart. Notably, the inherently small HOMO–LUMO gap of antiaromatic systems maintains a certain level of conductance even in the presence of cross‐conjugation.

Curcumin‐Enabled Metal‐Free Photocatalytic Oxidation of Aryl‐ and Alkyl‐methanamines to Imines Under Green Conditions

Curcumin, a natural polyphenol, enables a fully bio‐based and metal‐free photocatalytic system for the aerobic oxidation of aryl‐ and alkyl‐methanamines to imines under blue light. Using 2‐methyltetrahydrofuran (2‐MeTHF) as a renewable solvent and molecular oxygen as the sole oxidant, the protocol affords up to 98% yield.

Novel Water‐Soluble, Heavy Atom‐Free Thioxanthene‐Fused Naphthalimide–Polyamine Phototheranostic Conjugates

Water‐soluble, heavy‐atom‐free naphthalimide–polyamine conjugates were developed as novel phototheranostic agents. Conjugates 2 and 3 showed effective photocytotoxicity in MCF‐7 cells with negligible dark toxicity. Fluorescence imaging confirmed efficient cellular uptake.
