The effect of synbiotics supplement on alcohol use disorders identification test and biochemical parameters, gamma glutamyl transferase, lipopolysaccharide and immunoglobulin a levels, in high risk alcoholics

open access: yesAsian Journal of Medical Sciences, 2020
Background: Alcohol consumption does not result in dependence or abuse among most people. Nevertheless, a significant group of the population as a whole unavoidably is troubled by chronic alcoholism.Alcohol is involved in a number of diseases, disorders,

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Interleukin‐36α as a potential biomarker for renal tubular damage induced by dietary phosphate load

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, 2020
Excessive intake of phosphate has been known to induce renal tubular damage and interstitial inflammation, leading to acute kidney injury or chronic kidney disease in rodents and humans.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Standardized low-resolution electromagnetic tomography of preattentive auditory discrimination in accumulative drinker

open access: yesAsian Journal of Medical Sciences, 2020
Background: The present study proposes a task-dependent hypothesis in which the phonological units of segmental (e.g., consonant and vowel) and suprasegmental (e.g., prosodic) are processed in discrete asymmetry of the human brain.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.
