ChemInform Abstract: Synthesis, Characterization, and anti‐Amoebic Activity of N‐(Pyrimidin‐2‐yl)benzenesulfonamide Derivatives.

ChemInform, 2014
AbstractNew compounds (V) and (VII) are evaluated for their effects on the in vitro growth of Entamoeba histolytica. Sulfonamide derivatives (IIIb), (IIIe), and (Ve) exhibit IC50 values 3‐13‐fold higher than reference drug metronidazole.

Monoclinic cerium(III) picrate tetraethylene glycol complex: design, synthesis and biological evaluation as anti-amoebic activity against Acanthamoeba sp.

Journal of Materials Science, 2020
In an effort to develop effective anti-amoebic agent, a salt type complex, namely [Ce(Pic)2(H2O)(EO4)](Pic)·H2O complex, was synthesized and screened for in vitro anti-amoebic activity against Acanthamoeba sp. This Ce(III) complex has been characterized by microelemental analysis, and IR and NMR spectroscopy, and the data suggested the structural ...

Synthesis, characterization and in vitro anti-amoebic activity of new palladium(II) complexes with 5-nitrothiophene-2-carboxaldehyde N(4)-substituted thiosemicarbazones

Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry, 2004
Reaction between [Pd(DMSO)(2)Cl(2)] (DMSO=dimethylsulfoxide) and N(4)-substituted thiosemicarbazones derived from 5-nitrothiophene-2-carboxaldehyde (L) afforded the complexes [Pd(L)Cl(2)]. These new complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses and spectroscopic studies. Spectroscopic studies reveal that thionic sulfur and azomethine nitrogen

Potential anti-amoebic activity of sulfonate- and sulfamate-containing carboxamide derivatives against pathogenic Acanthamoeba castellanii belonging to the genotype T4

Parasitology International
Acanthamoeba are ubiquitously distributed in the environment and can cause infection of the central nervous system as well a sight-threatening eye infection. Herein, the potential anti-amoebic activity of a series of sulfonate/sulfamate derivatives against pathogenic A. castellanii was evaluated.

New palladium(II) complexes of 5-nitrothiophene-2-carboxaldehyde thiosemicarbazones. synthesis, spectral studies and in vitro anti-amoebic activity.

Bioorganic & medicinal chemistry, 2004
Thiosemicarbazones (1-7) and their palladium(II) complexes (1a-7a) of the type [Pd(TSCN)Cl(2)] (where TSCN=thiosemicarbazone) were prepared from 5-nitro thiophene-2-carboxaldehyde and [Pd(DMSO)(2)Cl(2)], respectively. Coordination via the thionic sulphur and the azomethine nitrogen atom of the thiosemicarbazones to the metal ion were confirmed by ...
