Genome‐Wide In Silico Analysis of the Type VI Secretion System (T6SS) Within the Morganella Genus

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 3, June 2026.
▪ Species‐specific T6SS patterns among Morganella genus (M. morganii and M. sibonii). ▪ Only one‐third of M. morganii isolates haboured a T6SS. ▪ All M. sibonii possess four T6SS clusters. ▪ M. sibonii exhibited a wide diversity of effectors compared to M. morganii.

Antiamoebic activity of marine sponge Haliclona exigua (Krikpatrick) [PDF]

open access: yesBangladesh Journal of Pharmacology, 2009
The methanol and methanol-chloroform (1:1) extracts of the freshly collected Haliclona exigua showed minumim inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 125 μg/ml and 250 μg/ml respectively in in vitro studies, but when both of these were tested in vivo in rats ...

Predator–Microbe Dynamics Inform Strategies for Robust Synthetic Community Assembly

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology, Volume 28, Issue 6, June 2026.
This Review introduces ecological principles of predator–prey interactions as a new dimension in SynCom design. By linking microbial defence traits, encounter dynamics, and adaptive buffering, it outlines a framework for constructing predator‐resistant synthetic communities with enhanced resilience, stability, and functional performance under natural ...

Risk Is Not Equal to Impact: The Challenges of Developing a Traffic Light System to Regulate Farmed Salmon Production on an Ecosystem Scale

open access: yesReviews in Aquaculture, Volume 18, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT We review information on salmon farming production, environmental and climatic variables covering all salmon farming areas in the Patagonia marine ecosystems over a 10‐year period in Chile. With this information, we develop a semi‐quantitative Environmental and Productive Risk Assessment (RA) model as a guide for the design of a Traffic Light ...

Anti-Amoebic Activity of Clitoria ternatea L. Flower Extract against Acanthamoeba culbertsoni Genotype T4

open access: yesJournal of Pioneering Medical Sciences
Background: Acanthamoeba culbertsoni is an opportunistic protozoan capable of causing severe infections in humans, including Acanthamoeba keratitis (AK), which predominantly affects contact lens users. Current therapeutic options remain inadequate, as no available treatment can completely eradicate the infection, primarily due to the formation of ...

The scale matters: A review on stimuli‐responsive microrobots categorized by scale for biomedical applications

open access: yesResponsive Materials, Volume 4, Issue 2, May 2026.
We systematically summarize how each scale dictates fundamental choices in design feature, manufacturing technology, driving mechanism, and control strategy, which are inherently governed by scale‐dominated physical principles. Furthermore, the application of scale‐determined operation modes of microrobots across different stages of medical ...
