Role of Neuroimaging Before Coronary Angiography in Patients With Out‐of‐Hospital Cardiac Arrest

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, Volume 108, Issue 2, Page 533-539, August 1, 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Patients presenting following out‐of‐hospital cardiac arrest (OOHCA) often require emergency coronary angiography. Presentations can be associated with syncope or head‐trauma. Aims We investigated the impact and utility of pre‐coronary angiography CT‐Brain (CT‐B) in patients following OOHCA on clinical outcomes.

Atypical Autonomic‐Predominant Guillain‐Barré Syndrome With Pandysautonomia Mimicking Parkinsonism and Recurrent Syncope: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Guillain‐Barré syndrome with pandysautonomia can mimic neurodegenerative and cardiogenic conditions, particularly in elderly patients presenting with autonomic symptoms and parkinsonian features. Timely neurologic evaluation and ganglioside antibody testing—especially anti‐GM2—are essential for accurate diagnosis and the initiation of ...

The Immuno‐Cardiovascular Storm of Pre‐Eclampsia: Cytokine‐Mediated Endothelial Injury, Thrombosis, and Maternal Cardiovascular Instability

open access: yesComprehensive Physiology, Volume 16, Issue 4, August 2026.
Placental ischemia in pre‐eclampsia initiates cytokine‐driven endothelial dysfunction, angiogenic imbalance, oxidative stress, and thromboinflammation. Elevated TNF‐α, IL‐6, IL‐17, sFlt‐1, and complement activation promote vasoconstriction, thrombosis, and cardiovascular instability.

Mesenchymal stem cell‐derived exosomes for cardiac repair: Challenges, standardization gaps and a realistic path to clinical translation

open access: yesClinical and Translational Discovery, Volume 6, Issue 4, August 2026.
Mesenchymal stem cell‐derived exosomes (MSC‐sEVs) show preclinical promise for cardiac repair via anti‐inflammatory, anti‐apoptotic, pro‐angiogenic and anti‐fibrotic effects. However, translational hurdles remain, including non‐standardized isolation, unvalidated potency assays, incomplete GMP manufacturing, and lack of completed Phase II/III trials ...
