Anti-phospholipid-antibodies in patients with relapsing polychondritis [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Relapsing polychondritis (RP) is an extremly rare multisystemic disease thought to be of autoimmune origin. In order to assess if RP is associated with anti-phospholipid antibodies (aPL), clinical data and sera of 21 patients with RP were collected in a ...

Inhibition of cyclin‐dependent kinases 12/13 using CT7439 as a treatment for colorectal cancer with CDK12 upregulation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The proposed mechanism of action for the CDK12/13 inhibitor and cyclin K degrader, CT7439. CDK12/13 inhibition interrupts transcription elongation, leading to increased DNA damage that results in cell death. This agent is a potentially novel treatment option for patients with colorectal cancer. Created in BioRender. Cyclin‐dependent kinase (CDK) 12 and

Anti-retinal Antibodies in Sarcoidosis

open access: yes, 2022
To measure, characterize, and evaluate the clinical significance of anti-retinal antibodies in patients with sarcoid uveitis. Prospective study of anti-retinal antibodies in 45 patients with biopsy-proven sarcoidosis (25 with and 20 without uveitis ...

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Primary Antimicrobial Resistance Among Mycobacterium Tuberculosis Isolates from HIV Seropositive and HIV Seronegative Patients in Dar es Salaam Tanzania. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The United Republic of Tanzania is one of the 22 high M. tuberculosis burden countries. Data collected between 2002 and 2007 indicate that the global prevalence of drug-resistant M. tuberculosis including MDR vary greatly.

Detection of antibodies to co-trimoxazole (preservative drug) interfering with routine red cell antibody screening

open access: yesAsian Journal of Transfusion Science, 2018
Drug-dependent antibodies can rarely cause interference in pretransfusion antibody screening. The diluents for commercial reagent red blood cells contain different antibiotics, such as chloramphenicol, neomycin sulfate, and gentamycin as a preservative ...

Preoperative circulating tumor cells integrated with imaging analysis for prognostic evaluation in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detecting circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in blood before surgery may help predict outcomes in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Here, we show when combined with tumor size and lymph node involvement from routine imaging, CTC status identifies high‐risk patients with poorer survival—offering a simple, minimally invasive tool ...

An investigation of the molecular basis of interactions between human monoclonal antibodies and antigens that are clinically relevant in systemic lupus erythematosus and the Antiphospholipid Syndrome. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Autontibodies to a wide variety of antigens are associated with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and the Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS).
