Anti-HBs kinetics after HBV vaccination in neonates
Clinical and Diagnostic Virology, 1994We report the results of a study using a recombinant DNA HBV vaccine in newborns from an endemic area for HBV and compare the anti-HBs kinetics with observations in adults in order to make estimates about the need for booster vaccinations. One hundred and forty-eight neonates were vaccinated and followed for 62 months.

HBsAG and Anti-HBs among Israeli Blood Donors
Vox Sanguinis, 1976Prevalence of HBSAg was studied by counterelectrophoresis (CEP) in 65,795 consecutive volunteer blood donors in Israel. The overall prevalence of HBSAg was 1.22% HBSAg was more prevalent in the young donors, more prevalent in male donors and varied according to the country of origin of the donors.

Rapid detection of HBsAg and anti-HBs by enzyme-immunoassay
Journal of Virological Methods, 1980Enzyme-immunoassay (EIA) for HBsAg is a reliable method with third generation sensitivity. Using a mechanized system for washing and reading and computerized data processing, subnanogramme amounts of subtypes ad and ay could be detected in approx. 5.5 h.

Quantitative evaluation of anti-HBs in sera.
Bollettino dell'Istituto sieroterapico milanese, 1984The Authors carried out a methodological study about the way of expressing in mIU/ml the antibody to HBV surface antigen (anti-HBs) titer. The results showed that Hollinger's formula seems to provide a good accuracy when enzyme immunoassay is employed (AUSAB EIA, Abbott).

Passive-Active Immunization After Anti-HBs Immunoglobulin?
JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1981To the Editor.— Commercial preparations of antibodies (anti-HBs) to hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), albeit expensive, are now readily available. However, the mechanisms of action of anti-HBs are not clearly understood. During the past two years we have followed up a medical technologist who received anti-HBs soon after parenteral inoculation of ...

[Practical use of anti-HB immunoglobulins].
Przeglad lekarski, 2001Viral hepatitis B remains a significant problem among iatrogenic infections. The development of transplantology met a barrier in the form of active hepatitis B. Wide but still inadequate prophylaxis against viral hepatitis B and the necessity of protection of patients after organ transplantation against secondary HBV infection require establishing ...

Anti-HBs Monoclonal Antibodies
1985The generation of monoclonal IgM antibodies against small spherical HBsAg particles has resulted in the establishment of a highly sensitive assay for the detection of surface antigen (302, 305). Further studies with this assay soon revealed a high binding activity in the sera of HBV infected individuals which was unreactive with conventional anti-HBs ...

Epidemiological distribution and significance of anti-HBs.
Developments in biological standardization, 1975HBsAg and anti-HBs neutralizing antibodies were quantitatively detected and typed by solid-phase RIA procedures in various random populations and in commercial lots of standard immunoglobulins. The prevalence of anti-HBs was considerably higher than prevalence of HBsAg, and the specificities of HBsAg and anti-HBs overlapped within the single groups of ...

Evaluation of Different Calculation Methods for Anti-HBs Titration
Zentralblatt für Bakteriologie, 1989Anti-HBs titre calculations should be standardized to make comparison between various vaccination programmes and between immunogenicity tests in animals more meaningful. For this purpose, we compared four methods of titre calculation in human and animal sera and in the IgM and IgG fractions of these sera.
