Celecoxib to improve scar quality following acute burn injury: Lessons learned after premature termination of a randomised trial

open access: yesBurns Open
Background: Pre-clinical studies suggest that non-steroidal anti-inflammatory therapy may reduce acute inflammation and modulate scar formation after burn injury.

Topical Diclofenac, an Efficacious Treatment for Osteoarthritis: A Narrative Review

open access: yesRheumatology and Therapy, 2020
Multiple head-to-head trials have demonstrated that topical nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), including topical diclofenac, provide at least equivalent analgesia, improvement in physical function, and reduction of stiffness compared with ...

VAIN: Attentional Multi-agent Predictive Modeling [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
Multi-agent predictive modeling is an essential step for understanding physical, social and team-play systems. Recently, Interaction Networks (INs) were proposed for the task of modeling multi-agent physical systems, INs scale with the number of interactions in the system (typically quadratic or higher order in the number of agents).

Formulation of topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
Reversed-pahse high-performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) methods were developed for the assay of indomethacin, its decomposition products, ibuprofen and its (tetrahydro-2-furanyl)methyl-, (tetrahydro-2-(2H)pyranyl)methyl- and cyclohexylmethyl esters. The development and application of these HPLC systems were studied.

Probabilistic Agent Programs [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 1999
Agents are small programs that autonomously take actions based on changes in their environment or ``state.'' Over the last few years, there have been an increasing number of efforts to build agents that can interact and/or collaborate with other agents.

The Influence of Different Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs on Alveolar Bone in Rats: An Experimental Study

open access: yesActa Stomatologica Croatica, 2015
The aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of dexketoprofen trometamol, meloxicam, diclofenac sodium on any untreated alveolar bone when they are used as drugs for another indication.

An agent framework for dynamic agent retraining: Agent academy [PDF]

open access: yesIn B. Stanford-Smith, E. Chiozza, and M. Edin, editors, Challenges and Achievements in e-business and e-work, pages 757-764, Prague, Czech Republic, October 2002. IOS Press, 2004
Agent Academy (AA) aims to develop a multi-agent society that can train new agents for specific or general tasks, while constantly retraining existing agents in a recursive mode. The system is based on collecting information both from the environment and the behaviors of the acting agents and their related successes/failures to generate a body of data,

Constructive agents nullify the ability of destructive agents to foster cooperation in public goods games [PDF]

open access: yesChaos: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Nonlinear Science 34.10 (2024)
Existing studies have revealed a paradoxical phenomenon in public goods games, wherein destructive agents, harming both cooperators and defectors, can unexpectedly bolster cooperation. Building upon this intriguing premise, our paper introduces a novel concept: constructive agents, which confer additional benefits to both cooperators and defectors.

Pharmacology of diferuloyl methane (curcumin), a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, 1973
Abstract Some pharmacological actions of curcumin (diferuloyl methane) have been examined in rats, mice and cats. The compound possesses significant anti-inflammatory activity in acute as well as in chronic models of inflammation. It is as potent as phenylbutazone in the carrageenan oedema test but only half as potent in chronic tests ...

Photocatalytic Generation of a Ground‐State Electron Donor through Water Activation

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
Electron donors that can be excited to higher energy states through light absorption can achieve oxidation potentials as low as ‐3.0 V (vs. SCE). However, ground‐state organic electron transfer reagents operating at such potentials remain underdeveloped, often necessitating multi‐step syntheses and elevated reaction temperatures for activation.
