Noise attenuated anti-lock brake system

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1992
A noise sensor for supplying a central processing unit of an anti-lock brake system with a noise signal corresponding to vibrations produced during braking. The central processing unit responds to the noise signal by supplying a control valve assembly with an operational signal which modulates the fluid pressure supplied to a wheel cylinder to create a

Sliding Mode Control of Anti-Lock Braking System

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
Many different control methods for Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) have been developed. In this paper, a new control algorithm is proposed for ABS based on sliding mode control algorithm, which represents the nonlinear characteristics of external interferences.

Intelligent Adaptive Control for Anti-Lock Braking System

Volume 4A: Dynamics, Vibration, and Control, 2018
One of the most important safety features of an automobile is its braking system. The ability of a braking system to provide safe and repeatable stopping is the key to safe motoring. Mechatronics subsystems are more and more developed in automotive industries and in the recent years modern control techniques have been applied to a wide range of many ...

Exploring Magnetorheological Brake-Based Anti-Lock Brake System for Automotive Application

International Journal of Manufacturing, Materials, and Mechanical Engineering, 2019
The present work explores a magnetorheological brake (MRB)-based anti-lock brake system (ABS) proposed for a vehicular application. Because of its quick response time, MRB is being considered as a substitute for the conventional hydraulic brake (CHB), commonly used for road vehicles.

HYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEM WITH ANTI-LOCK

1992
The pressure in the wheel brakes can be adjusted by means of an inlet valve (15) and an outlet valve (17) depending on their rotational behaviour. Hydraulic fluid from the pumps (13) is fed to the wheel brakes through the inlet valve (15) and is removed from the wheel brakes through the outlet valve (17).

Vibrostability Peculiarities of Disk Brake in Automobile Anti-Lock Braking System

World Tribology Congress III, Volume 2, 2005
On the basis of the automobile braking mathematical model describing brake pads oscillation process taking into account the influence of anti-lock braking system, disk brake vibrostability calculation method is worked out. As a result the algorithm of differential equations solving that describe the dynamics of automobile braking process is proposed ...

Development and Evaluation of Anti-Lock Brake Systems

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1976
<div class="htmlview paragraph">Anti-lock systems which effectively prevent wheel lock have been developed for passenger cars, trucks, articulated vehicles and buses. Six anti-lock system configurations involving individual wheel and axle control are discussed.

Fuzzy control for the anti-lock brake system

Soft Computing in Intelligent Systems and Information Processing. Proceedings of the 1996 Asian Fuzzy Systems Symposium, 2002
In this paper, we develop the fuzzy controller for an ABS (anti-lock braking system). The system models of the ABS and the fuzzy controller structure are discussed. Computer simulations are given to understand the effect of some important parameters.

Dynamics of braking vehicles: from Coulomb friction to anti-lock braking systems

European Journal of Physics, 2009
The dynamics of braking of wheeled vehicles is studied using the Coulomb approximation for the friction between road and wheels. The dependence of the stopping distance on the mass of the vehicle, on the number of its wheels and on the intensity of the braking torque is established.

In-Plant Testing of Anti-Lock Brake Systems

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1988
<div class="htmlview paragraph">Basic ABS test approaches are discussed with the emphasis on the methods using a simulated impending lock-up condition. The description of two representative test procedures and the equipment necessary to implement them is included.</div>
