Serum Systemic Autoantibodies in Anti-N-Methyl-D-Aspartate Receptor Encephalitis

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology, 2020
Objective: The aim of this retrospective study was to investigate the relationship between serum systemic autoantibodies and anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) encephalitis. Methods: Thirty-nine patients with anti-NMDAR encephalitis were examined ...

Lignin Mimicking Protein Methylation Augments the Efficacy of FOLFOX Chemotherapy by Anchoring Thymidylate Synthase

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Lignin‐mimicking protein methylation can enhance the efficacy and mitigate the toxicity of the classic FOLFOX chemotherapy regimen. ABSTRACT FOLFOX has served as the standard chemotherapy regimen for advanced stages, specifically in the treatment of pancreatic, colorectal, and bladder cancers.

Anti-N-Methyl-D-Aspartate Receptor Encephalitis in Pediatrics

open access: yesMustansiriya Medical Journal, 2022
Anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor encephalitis (anti-NMDAR) is a severe autoimmune disease caused by the development of immunoglobulin G antibodies against the NMDAR's GluN1 subunit in the cerebrospinal fluid. It is characterized by a wide range of clinical features including psychological manifestations, dyskinesia, and ...

Early Retinal UCHL1 Dysregulation Coupled With Synaptic Loss Reflects Alzheimer's Disease Severity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies synapse‐enriched deubiquitinase UCHL1 as an early Aβ‐responsive regulator of retinal synaptopathy in Alzheimer's disease. Retinal UCHL1 loss accompanies excitatory synapse degeneration, p75NTR activation, and neuroinflammation, and predicts Braak stage and cognitive decline. Aβ42 fibrils trigger synaptic and UCHL1 depletion before

Crosstalk Between Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor And N-Methyl-D-Aspartate Receptor Signaling In Neurons [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Glutamate is the major excitatory neurotransmitter in brain exerting prosurvival effect on neurons via N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) signaling under physiological conditions.

Ubiquitination of ACSL4 by Parkin Suppresses Ferroptosis and Rescues Glucocorticoid‐Induced Bone Loss

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
GCs reduce Parkin, leading to ACSL4 accumulation and PUFA‐phospholipid‐driven ferroptosis in BMSCs, which impairs osteogenesis and promotes adipogenesis, causing GIOP. Parkin restoration (via OE‐Parkin or Parkin‐LNP@DSS6) ubiquitinates and degrades ACSL4, inhibiting ferroptosis, rescuing bone formation, and rescues GIOP bone loss.
