Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Comparative effectiveness of anti-seizure medications in emulated trials using medical informatics
Abstract Anti-seizure medications (ASMs) are often prescribed using a trial-and-error approach with a similar sequence for many patients. Comparative effectiveness data beyond the first ASM prescription are limited. Artificial intelligence can automatically extract information from electronic health records (EHRs) and augment clinical

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Adherence to anti-hypertensive medication: Proposing and testing a conceptual model
Objectives. A conceptual model of the psychological factors underpinning adherence to anti-hypertensive medication is proposed and tested. The model suggests that adherence is influenced by three sets of variables: demography, health status, and ...

ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.
