Anti-TNF-α Therapy Suppresses Proinflammatory Activities of Mucosal Neutrophils in Inflammatory Bowel Disease

open access: yesMediators of Inflammation, 2018
Neutrophils have been found to play an important role in the pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and anti-TNF-α mAb (i.e., infliximab) therapy is demonstrated to be effective in the induction of clinical remission and mucosal healing in ...

Advances in 3D Bioprinting for Breast Cancer Modeling: Tumor Microenvironment, Metastasis, and Drug Screening

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Three‐dimensional bioprinting transforms breast cancer modeling from simple constructs into spatially organized, multicellular, perfused, and patient‐derived platforms. This review shows how bioinks, cellular composition, architecture, and flow govern tumor behavior and drug response, while revealing why complexity alone is insufficient without ...

Comparison of Glucocorticoid and Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug Requirement Before and After Tumor Necrosis Factor Inhibitor Treatment in Patients With Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesThe Turkish Journal of Gastroenterology, 2015
Objectives: This study aims to investigate whether use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or glucocorticoids (GCs) decreases over different time intervals before and after anti-tumor necrosis factor (anti-TNF) therapy in rheumatoid ...

Near‐Infrared Light‐Activated Polydopamine Nanoparticles Conjugated With Transferrin Peptides for Enhanced Brain Accumulation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that Tf‐PDA NPs combine a receptor‐mediated targeting with mild photothermal activation to enhance nanoparticle accumulation in the brain. NIR‐activated Tf‐PDA NPs increase BBB permeability to NPs in vitro and in vivo without inducing cytotoxicity or adverse immune responses.

Decreasing trends in hospitalizations during anti-TNF therapy are associated with time to anti-TNF therapy: Results from two referral centres

open access: yes, 2014
Background: Hospitalization is an important outcome measure and a major driver of costs in patients with inflammatory bowel disease. We analysed medical and surgical hospitalization rates and predictors of hospitalization before and during anti-TNF ...

GDNF‐Enriched Small Extracellular Vesicle‐Loaded ROS‐Scavenging Hydrogel Promotes Neural Regeneration After Spinal Cord Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A glial cell line‐derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF)‐enriched small extracellular vesicle‐loaded reactive oxygen species (ROS)‐scavenging hydrogel integrates sustained neurotrophic delivery with local modulation of oxidative and inflammatory stress after spinal cord injury. The composite hydrogel improves local vesicle retention, protects neural tissue,
