Applications of ribosome display to antibody drug discovery

Expert Opinion on Biological Therapy, 2005
Ribosome display is a polymerase chain reaction-based in vitro display technology that is well suited to the selection and evolution of high affinity antibodies. Both eukaryotic and prokaryotic translation systems have been applied to ribosome display, and the technology's utility has been demonstrated in the antibody isolation process.

Antibodies: A History of Their Discovery and Properties

2020
This is the story of how the antibody molecules of the immune system were discovered. The early beginnings on immunity were phenomenological, preaching the dogma of miasmatic theory to explain the origin of infection and disease, even in the face of the proof that vaccines could act as a protective therapy.

The rapid discovery of engineered antibodies.

IDrugs : the investigational drugs journal, 2007
Antibodies, in particular human antibodies, are a growing class of new agents with potential diagnostic and therapeutic applications. Advanced DNA and protein technologies allow for the generation of recombinant antibodies in vitro from large DNA libraries.

Discovery and Characterization of Allosteric Antibodies

Antibodies are the fastest-growing class of treatments, with a majority of them being approved in the oncology area. Proteins are inherently flexible, and this flexibility can be exploited to modulate ligand-binding and target activity, a phenomenon referred to as allostery.
