NETs‐CD44‐IL‐17A Feedback Loop Drives Th17‐Mediated Inflammation in Behçet's Uveitis
In experimental autoimmune uveitis (EAU), neutrophils interact with T helper 17 (Th17) cells through neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) to exert a pro‐inflammatory effect. In vitro and in vivo experiments identify that NETs promote IL‐17A secretion in Th17 cells via CD44, and increasing IL‐17A further induces more NETs formation.

Safety and Efficacy of Direct Oral Anticoagulants vs Warfarin in Patients With Obesity and Venous Thromboembolism: A Retrospective Analysis [PDF]
Background Current venous thromboembolism guidelines recommend using direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) over warfarin regardless of obesity status; however, evidence remains limited for the safety and efficacy of DOAC use in patients with obesity.

Fusion protein PDGFB‐LG4 exhibits superior osteoinductive and angiogenic activity compared to PDGFB. The PCLHS‐PDGFB‐LG4 scaffold, featuring perfusable and permeable vascular‐like networks, promotes angiogenesis and osteogenesis through the sustained release of PDGFB‐LG4, thereby accelerating the bone defect repair process.

Development of a Machine Learning Model and Mobile Application to Aid in Predicting Dosage of Vitamin K Antagonists Among Indian Patients [PDF]
Patients who undergo mechanical heart valve replacements or have conditions like Atrial Fibrillation have to take Vitamin K Antagonists (VKA) drugs to prevent coagulation of blood. These drugs have narrow therapeutic range and need to be very closely monitored due to life threatening side effects.

Similarity-based prediction of Ejection Fraction in Heart Failure Patients [PDF]
Biomedical research is increasingly employing real world evidence (RWE) to foster discoveries of novel clinical phenotypes and to better characterize long term effect of medical treatments. However, due to limitations inherent in the collection process, RWE often lacks key features of patients, particularly when these features cannot be directly ...

Occlusion of tumor blood vessels represents a promising yet challenging approach in cancer treatment. Herein, supramolecularly engineered platelets conjugated with morphology‐transformable nanoparticles is developed for precise tumor embolization. The engineered platelets actively accumulate at tumor sites following induced blood vessel injury.

Non-Vitamin K Oral Anticoagulants in Stroke Patients: Practical Issues [PDF]
Non-vitamin-K oral anticoagulants (NOACs) represent a major advance in the prevention of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF), offering a similar, if not superior, efficacy and safety profile and several practical advantages over oral vitamin

Association of stroke lesion distributions with atrial fibrillation detected after stroke [PDF]
Background Atrial fibrillation is often missed by traditional intermittent electrocardiogram monitoring after ischemic stroke due to its paroxysmal and asymptomatic nature. The knowledge of the unique characteristics of the population with atrial fibrillation detected after stroke (AFDAS) enables more ischemic stroke patients to benefit from more ...

During a heart attack, neutrophils rapidly activate and differentiate into a specific subset characterized by high levels of MMP9, a tissue‐damaging enzyme, via the SPI1/CST7 pathway. These neutrophils form harmful net‐like structures (Neutrophil extracellular traps, NETs) that exacerbate heart injury.
