Hole maximum density droplets of an antidot in strong magnetic fields [PDF]
We investigate a quantum antidot in the integer quantum Hall regime (the filling factor is two) by using a Hartree-Fock approach and by transforming the electron antidot into a system which confines holes via an electron-hole transformation. We find that its ground state is the maximum density droplet of holes in certain parameter ranges.

The natural history of the concept of antidote
Over the centuries, the development of knowledge about poisons and antidotes depended on their conceptualization, however, a range of poisons and the concept of antidote evolved.

Slow Spin Relaxation in Two-Dimensional Electron Systems with Antidots [PDF]
We report a Monte Carlo investigation of the effect of a lattice of antidots on spin relaxation in twodimensional electron systems. The spin relaxation time is calculated as a function of geometrical parameters describing the antidot lattice, namely, the antidot radius and the distance between their centers.

A DFT study on the electronic and magnetic properties of triangular graphene antidot lattices [PDF]
We explore the effect of antidot size on electronic and magnetic properties of graphene antidot lattices from first-principles calculations. The spin-polarized density of states, band gap, formation energy and the total magnetization of two different equilateral triangular and right triangular antidots with zigzag and mixed zigzag-armchair edges are ...

Background Bivalent thrombin‐binding aptamers (TBAs) have great potential for the treatment of thrombosis because they exhibit high anticoagulant activity, and their complementary single‐stranded DNA (ssDNA) sequences work as an antidote.

Enhanced vortex pinning by a composite antidot lattice in a superconducting Pb film [PDF]
The use of artificial defects is known to enhance the superconducting critical parameters of thin films. In the case of conventional superconductors, regular arrays of submicron holes (antidots) substantially increase the critical temperature Tc(H) and critical current Ic(H) for all fields.

All optical detection of picosecond spin-wave dynamics in two-dimensional annular antidot lattice [PDF]
Novel magnetic structures with precisely controlled dimensions and shapes at the nanoscale have potential applications in spin logic, spintronics and other spin-based communication devices. We report the fabrication of two-dimensional bi-structure magnonic crystal in the form of embedded nanodots in a periodic Ni80Fe20 antidot lattice structure ...

Localizing fractional quasiparticles on graphene quantum hall antidots [PDF]
We report localization of fractional quantum Hall (QH) quasiparticles on graphene antidots. By studying coherent tunneling through the localized QH edge modes on the antidot, we measured the QH quasiparticle charges to be approximately $\pm e/3$ at fractional fillings of $\nu = \pm 1/3$.
