The presence of biotin‐binding avidin proteins in fish and their biological significance are poorly characterized. We cataloged fish avidins and demonstrate that they are widely present and evolutionarily conserved. We created avd knockout zebrafish and show that zebavidin is dispensable for development and that resistance of avd knockout embryos in ...

Antifungal Activity of Maize (Zea Mays L.) Ribosome-Inactivating Protein 1 Against Aspergillus Species [PDF]
Maize ribosome-inactivating protein 1 (RIP1) is an abundant 32-kDa protein that can depurinate a specific adenine residue on large 28S ribosomal RNA. This irreversible modification of the ribosomal RNA inhibits translation.

We introduce a new fabrication method that overcomes the current limitation of tubular gap electrospinning. We successfully fabricated a seamless hollow tube with fibers aligned along the longitudinal axis in diameters as small as 300 µm, and then reinforced it using 4‐axis 3D printing.
