Antigen–Antibody Complexes

2020
In vertebrates, immunoglobulins (Igs), commonly known as antibodies, play an integral role in the armamentarium of immune defense against various pathogens. After an antigenic challenge, antibodies are secreted by differentiated B cells called plasma cells.

Australia Antigen–Antibody Complexes

Nature, 1970
BLUMBERG and his colleagues have published data on the relation of Australia antigen, Au(1), to hepatitis1,2. While existing antisera, either of human or rabbit sources3, frequently can be used to detect this antigen in patients with hepatitis by either immunodiffusion4 or complement fixation5 it is probable that the antigen is undetectable in some ...

Simulations that capture antigen–antibody complexity

Nature Computational Science, 2022
Abstract: Antigen-antibody prediction remains a complex computational challenge. Simulations with the new Absolut! package provide novel insights into the models and datasets tackling this problem.

Degenerate interfaces in antigen-antibody complexes

Journal of Molecular Biology, 2001
In most of the work dealing with the analysis of protein-protein interfaces, a single X-ray structure is available or selected, and implicitly it is assumed that this structure corresponds to the optimal complex for this pair of proteins. However, we have found a degenerate interface in a high-affinity antibody-antigen complex: the two independent ...

Circulating Antigen Antibody Complexes in Scabies

Dermatology, 1978
Circulating immune complexes measured by the binding of Clq in 29 scabies patients and 52 control individuals have been found increased in the treated scabies patient.

Antigen‐Antibody Complexes in Hemophilia

Scandinavian Journal of Haematology, 1984
Antigen‐antibody complexes have been found by several groups of investigators in patients with hemophilia. The amount of circulating immune complexes (CIC) has varied with the assay method, the largest amount has been found with the Staph binding assay and the smallest with the Raji cell method. We have correlated the level of immune complexes detected

Modulation of Antigen‐Antibody Complexations by Immunoglobulins

Scandinavian Journal of Immunology, 1995
In this investigation, the modulating effects of non‐immune human IgG and rheumatoid factors (RFs) on antigen‐antibody complexations were studied. Non‐immune human IgG, as well as RF, were found to inhibit the binding of antigen to specific antibodies of both human and rabbit origin.
