The price of tumor control: an analysis of rare side effects of anti-CTLA-4 therapy in metastatic melanoma from the ipilimumab network [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Background: Ipilimumab, a cytotoxic T-lymphocyte antigen-4 (CTLA-4) blocking antibody, has been approved for the treatment of metastatic melanoma and induces adverse events (AE) in up to 64% of patients.

Removal of serological interference in the treatment of multiple myeloma with CD38 monoclonal antibody using polybrene method

open access: yesZhongguo shuxue zazhi, 2022
Objective To investigate the clinical feasibility of polybrene method to remove serological interference in patients receiving anti-CD38 monoclonal antibody for the treatment of multiple myeloma, and its detection performance of alloantibodies.

Dynamics of antibody engagement of red blood cells in vivo and in vitro

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
Exposure to allogenic red blood cells (RBCs), either through pregnancy or transfusion, can result in alloimmunization, which can lead to severe hemolytic transfusion reactions and pregnancy complications.

Impedance spectroscopy in biodynamics: Detection of specific cells (pathogens) using immune coated electrodes [PDF]

open access: yesSongklanakarin Journal of Science and Technology (SJST), 2002
We describe the theoretical and experimental approaches for monitoring the interfacial biomolecular reaction between immobilized antibody and the antigen binding partner (the analyte, or the targeted cell) using Impedance Spectroscopy, IS.

Modified Hemagglutination Tests for COVID-19 Serology in Resource-Poor Settings: Ready for Prime-Time?

open access: yesVaccines, 2022
During the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, serology has suffered several manufacturing and budget bottlenecks. Kode technology exposes exogenous antigens on the surface of cells; in the case of red blood cells, modified cells are called kodecytes, making ...

Role of hydrophobic interaction in hapten-antibody binding

open access: yes, 1977
The precipitation reaction of bovine serum albumin coupled with p-azophenylleucine with homologous antibody was inhibited by several structurally related haptens. The isobutyl group substituent on alpha-carbon atom of the leucine residue contributed more

Emapalumab for Immune Effector Cell‐Associated Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis‐Like Syndrome Following CD19‐Directed CAR‐T in Two Patients With B‐ALL: Clinical and Biomarker Correlates

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Immune effector cell‐associated hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis‐like syndrome (IEC‐HS) is a life‐threatening hyperinflammatory toxicity distinct from cytokine release syndrome (CRS) and neurotoxicity following chimeric antigen receptor T‐cell (CAR‐T) therapy. In a single‐institution retrospective cohort of pediatric and young adult patients

IgY Antibodies from Birds: A Review on Affinity and Avidity

open access: yesAnimals, 2023
IgY antibodies are found in the blood and yolk of eggs. Several studies show the feasibility of utilising IgY for immunotherapy and immunodiagnosis. These antibodies have been studied because they fulfil the current needs for reducing, replacing, and ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
