Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and Dentistry: A lethal connect

open access: yesWorld Journal of Advanced Research and Reviews
In the unfolding narrative of global health, the ominous spectre of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) looms large, presenting an ever more urgent challenge to public health systems worldwide. Antibiotics are a primary tool in the field of therapeutic medicine & dentistry & they saturate the Indian pharmaceutical markets.

Non‐Amphiphilic Antimicrobial Polymers

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Completely non‐amphiphilic antimicrobial polymers (APs) that possess significant bioactivity and excellent selectivity are presented. The importance of hydrogen‐bonding interactions is highlighted by segregation of APs on bacterial membrane models and bacteria, a behavior absent in amphiphilic polymers.

Terpene Derivatives as a Potential Agent against Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Pathogens [PDF]

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
The evolution of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in pathogens has prompted extensive research to find alternative therapeutics. Plants rich with natural secondary metabolites are one of the go-to reservoirs for discovery of potential resources to alleviate this problem.

Polysaccharides’ Structures and Functions in Biofilm Architecture of Antimicrobial-Resistant (AMR) Pathogens

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2023
Bacteria and fungi have developed resistance to the existing therapies such as antibiotics and antifungal drugs, and multiple mechanisms are mediating this resistance. Among these, the formation of an extracellular matrix embedding different bacterial cells, called biofilm, is an effective strategy through which bacterial and fungal cells are ...

Genomic Insights Into a Strong Biofilm‐Forming Enterococcus faecalis MTR_EFS01 Strain Isolated From a Shrimp in Bangladesh

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
This study characterizes a multidrug‐resistant and strong biofilm‐forming Enterococcus faecalis strain obtained from a shrimp sample in Bangladesh. ABSTRACT Enterococcus faecalis is known for its ability to form strong biofilms and its role as an opportunistic pathogen. In this study, we screened and characterized a multidrug‐resistant (MDR) and strong

Antibiotic Sensitivity of Vibrio spp. and Shewanella algae Isolated From Brood and Egg of Mud Crab Hatchery

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Vibrio alginolyticus NBRC 15630, Vibrio parahaemolyticus ATCC 17802, Shewanella algae DW01, and Shewanella algae ATCC 51192 bacterial strains were found in the Mud crab brood and egg samples. All isolates were found to be sensitive to cefotaxime, chloramphenicol, gentamicin, and nitrofurantoin antibiotics.

System-wide approaches to antimicrobial therapy and antimicrobial resistance in the UK: the AMR-X framework

open access: goldThe Lancet Microbe
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) threatens human, animal, and environmental health. Acknowledging the urgency of addressing AMR, an opportunity exists to extend AMR action-focused research beyond the confines of an isolated biomedical paradigm. An AMR learning system, AMR-X, envisions a national network of health systems creating and applying optimal use
