Antimicrobial susceptibility of Bifidobacterium
Annales de l'Institut Pasteur / Microbiologie, 1983The susceptibility pattern of 459 strains of bifidobacteria, representing 15 species, to 16 antimicrobial agents was determined by the broth dilution method. The majority of the strains derived from human faeces. Penicillin G, erythromycin, clindamycin, vancomycin and bacitracin were the most active compounds; they inhibited 90% of the strains at less ...

Antimicrobial cream susceptibility testing
Burns, 1985Utilizing a recently described rapid needle extrusion method for determining the sensitivities of burn wound isolates, we have compiled data on the resistance patterns of over 250 isolates from our burn unit. Major isolate groups were Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, various Enterobacteriaceae and Enterococci.

Biofilm Susceptibility to Antimicrobials
Advances in Dental Research, 1997Microbial biofilms, where organisms are intimately associated with each other and a solid substratum through binding and inclusion within an exopolymer matrix, are widely distributed in nature and disease. In the mouth, multispecies biofilms are associated not only with dental plaque and tooth decay but also with soft tissues of the buccal cavity and ...

Antimicrobial Susceptibility of Bacillus Anthracis
Scandinavian Journal of Infectious Diseases, 199122 Bacillus anthracis isolates were tested for susceptibility to 27 antimicrobial agents by agar dilution. All isolates were sensitive to penicillins and did not produce beta-lactamase. Although all isolates were sensitive to cefazolin, cephalothin, cephradine and cefoperazone 19 isolates were resistant to cefuroxime, 18 to cefotaxime, 18 to ...

Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing
American Association of Bovine Practitioners Conference Proceedings, 2020Antimicrobial susceptibility testing and interpretation is a critical component of antimicrobial stewardship in bovine practice, yet it remains 1 of the most poorly understood diagnostic tests in veterinary medicine. Improved practitioner understanding of the process of antimicrobial susceptibility testing, clinical breakpoint determination, and the ...

Antimicrobial Susceptibility Breakpoints
Treatments in Respiratory Medicine, 2005Since the early 1960s, considerable advancements have been made to standardize and provide quality assurance for clinical susceptibility testing procedures of antimicrobial agents. Controversy, however, remains as to the interpretation of clinical laboratory susceptibility test results.

Antimicrobial susceptibility of Moraxella bovis
Veterinary Microbiology, 1998The antimicrobial susceptibility of 55 isolates of Moraxella bovis to seven antibiotics was evaluated by broth microdilution procedures. The isolates had an MIC90 of < or = 1 mg/l to erythromycin, ceftiofur, and ampicillin; 4 mg/l to tilmicosin; 16 mg/l to tylosin and gentamicin; and had MIC90s of > or = 32 mg/l for oxytetracycline.

Anomalous Antimicrobial Susceptibility Trend Identification
2020 42nd Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine & Biology Society (EMBC), 2020Antibiotic resistant bacterial infections are a growing global health crisis. Antibiograms, aggregate antimicrobial resistance reports, are critical for tracking antibiotic susceptibility and prescribing antibiotics. This research leverages fifteen years of the expansive Massachusetts statewide antibiogram dataset curated by the Massachusetts ...

Antimicrobial susceptibility testing
American Association of Bovine Practitioners Conference Proceedings, 2016There continues to be considerable confusion and debate regarding the utility of antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) to aid in the antimicrobial selection process. With the renewed emphasis on antimicrobial stewardship in both human and veterinary medicine, it is important to consider all disease preventive and diagnostic tools available.

ANTIMICROBIAL SUSCEPTIBILITY OF EDWARDSIELLA ICTALURI
Journal of Wildlife Diseases, 1986Edwardsiella ictaluri isolates collected over the past 7 yr from outbreaks of disease in fish occurring in different geographic areas were screened against 37 antimicrobial agents. Edwardsiella ictaluri were found to be susceptible to most agents active against gram negative bacteria such as aminoglycosides, cephalosporins, the "newer" penicillins ...
