Enzymatic Synthesis of Dilactone Scaffold of Antimycins

ACS Chemical Biology, 2012
Antimycins are a family of natural products possessing outstanding biological activities and unique structures, which have intrigued chemists for over a half century. The antimycin structural skeleton is built on a nine-membered dilactone ring containing one alkyl, one acyloxy, two methyl moieties, and an amide linkage connecting to a 3 ...

Antimycin A- and hydroxamate-insensitive respiration in yeasts

Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, 1985
In this paper evidence is presented for the mitochondrial localization of the antimycin A (AA) + salicylhydroxamate (SHAM)-insensitive respiration of the yeasts Kluyveromyces lactis, Endomycopsis capsularis and Hansenula saturnus. Such a respiration, which can be sustained by NADH and NADPH but not by succinate, is inhibited by high concentrations of ...

Antimycin as a Toxicant in a Marine Habitat

Transactions of the American Fisheries Society, 1969
Abstract A marine impoundment in Tampa Bay, Florida, was treated with Antimycin A at a concentration of 7 ppb. Effects of the toxicant were observed for finfish and invertebrates of the area. Degree of fish sensitivity varied among families and species.
