Antioxidant activity of curcuminoids
Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2019The antioxidant activity of the keto and enol forms of curcuminoids isolated from the roots of Curcuma longa is directly related to CH3O⋯H–O and NOT to CO⋯H–O hydrogen bonds.

Mucolytics and antioxidant activity
Life Sciences, 1999We investigated effects of the mucolytics ambroxol and N-acetylcysteine on airways reactivity evoked by histamine in guinea pigs exposed to toluene vapors. We did not find significant changes in reactivity of tracheal smooth muscle from animals treated with mucolytics compared to the control group.

Antioxidant Activity of Diethyldithiocarbamate
Free Radical Research, 1996Diethyldithiocarbamate (DDC), a potent copper chelating agent, has long been used for the treatment of oxygen toxicity to the central nervous system, as an immunomodulator to treat cancer, and in HIV-infected patients. We evaluated the antioxidant properties of DDC, including its scavenging of reactive oxygen species, its reducing properties, its iron ...

Antiradical and antioxidant activities of new bio-antioxidants
Biochimie, 2012Antioxidants could be promising agents for management of oxidative stress-related diseases. New biologically active compounds, belonging to a rare class of natural lignans with antiangiogenic, antitumoral and DNA intercalating properties, have been recently synthesized.

Antioxidant Compounds and Antioxidant Activity in “Early Potatoes”
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2008The antioxidant content and the antioxidant capacity of both hydrophilic and lipophilic antioxidant extracts from four "early potato" cultivars, grown in two different locations (Racale and Monteroni), were examined. There was a considerable variation in carotenoid content and weak differences in the ascorbic acid concentration of the examined ...

Antioxidant activity of retinoids
1990Publisher Summary Although the effects of retinoids are numerous in biological systems, among them are indications that retinoids may exert some of their actions by virtue of their acting as lipid-soluble antioxidants. In evaluating a substance as an antioxidant, it is important to use more than one assay, because an antioxidant may be very sensitive

Antioxidant Activity of Essential Oils
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2013Essential oils (EOs) are liquid mixtures of volatile compounds obtained from aromatic plants. Many EOs have antioxidant properties, and the use of EOs as natural antioxidants is a field of growing interest because some synthetic antioxidants such as BHA and BHT are now suspected to be potentially harmful to human health.

ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITIES OF ARTICHOKE PHENOLICS
Acta Horticulturae, 2005Both leaves and heads from artichokes are rich in phenolic compounds belonging to different classes: benzoic and cinnamic derivatives, flavonoids and tannins. There are conditions when these phenolic compounds show antioxidant activities and quench different types of free radicals.

The Antioxidant Activity of Coumarins and Flavonoids
Mini Reviews in Medicinal Chemistry, 2013Coumarins and flavonoids are heterocyclic molecules that have been associated with beneficial effects on human health, such as reducing the risk of cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular and brain diseases. These effects are thought to be related to the radical scavenging effect, due to their antioxidant activities, along with other possible mechanisms, such
