Screening of Physicochemical and Bioactive Traits of New Cherry Cultivars Obtained from the Cross of ‘Ambrunés’ × ‘Hudson’

open access: yesAgriculture
Although the cherry already has an excellent bioactive profile, the implementation of breeding programs is a valuable tool to enhance it further. Thus, a breeding program was conducted on ‘Picota’ type cherries (the ‘Ambrunés’ cultivar, in particular) by

Advances in 3D Bioprinting for Breast Cancer Modeling: Tumor Microenvironment, Metastasis, and Drug Screening

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Three‐dimensional bioprinting transforms breast cancer modeling from simple constructs into spatially organized, multicellular, perfused, and patient‐derived platforms. This review shows how bioinks, cellular composition, architecture, and flow govern tumor behavior and drug response, while revealing why complexity alone is insufficient without ...

Glutathione: Antioxidant Properties Dedicated to Nanotechnologies

open access: yesAntioxidants, 2018
Which scientist has never heard of glutathione (GSH)? This well-known low-molecular-weight tripeptide is perhaps the most famous natural antioxidant. However, the interest in GSH should not be restricted to its redox properties.

Antioxidant and prooxidant properties of flavonoids

open access: yesFitoterapia, 2011
The interest in possible health benefits of flavonoids has increased owing to their potent antioxidant and free radical scavenging activities observed in vitro. Nevertheless, the antioxidant efficacy of flavonoids in vivo is less documented and their prooxidant properties have been actually described in vivo.

Near‐Infrared Light‐Activated Polydopamine Nanoparticles Conjugated With Transferrin Peptides for Enhanced Brain Accumulation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that Tf‐PDA NPs combine a receptor‐mediated targeting with mild photothermal activation to enhance nanoparticle accumulation in the brain. NIR‐activated Tf‐PDA NPs increase BBB permeability to NPs in vitro and in vivo without inducing cytotoxicity or adverse immune responses.

GDNF‐Enriched Small Extracellular Vesicle‐Loaded ROS‐Scavenging Hydrogel Promotes Neural Regeneration After Spinal Cord Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A glial cell line‐derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF)‐enriched small extracellular vesicle‐loaded reactive oxygen species (ROS)‐scavenging hydrogel integrates sustained neurotrophic delivery with local modulation of oxidative and inflammatory stress after spinal cord injury. The composite hydrogel improves local vesicle retention, protects neural tissue,

Lignin Mimicking Protein Methylation Augments the Efficacy of FOLFOX Chemotherapy by Anchoring Thymidylate Synthase

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Lignin‐mimicking protein methylation can enhance the efficacy and mitigate the toxicity of the classic FOLFOX chemotherapy regimen. ABSTRACT FOLFOX has served as the standard chemotherapy regimen for advanced stages, specifically in the treatment of pancreatic, colorectal, and bladder cancers.
