Proteolytic and Antiproteolytic Activity in the Skin: Gluing the Pieces Together

Journal of Investigative Dermatology
Epidermal differentiation is ultimately aimed at the formation of a functional barrier capable of protecting the organism from the environment while preventing loss of biologically vital elements. Epidermal differentiation entails a delicately regulated process of cell-cell junction formation and dissolution to enable upward cell migration and ...

Antiproliferative and Antiproteolytic activity of Pentoxifylline in cultures of B16F10 Melanoma cells

Cancer Chemotherapy and Pharmacology, 2005
Pentoxifylline (PTX), a methyl xanthine derivative is widely used as a haemorheological agent in the treatment of peripheral vascular disease. In the present study, we investigated the in vitro effects of PTX on B16F10 melanoma cell proliferation, adhesion and secretion of Matrix metalloproteinases. The toxic range of PTX was evaluated using MTT test ...

Anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antiproteolytic activities of some novel thiadiazoles

Pharmacological Research Communications, 1983
Eighteen novel acetyl salicyloyl/butyroyl mercapto 1,3,4-thiadiazoles have been synthesized and characterized by their elemental analyses, IR and PMR spectral studies. Their efficacy against carrageenin induced paw oedema was tested in albino rats of either sex at a dose of 100 mg/kg p.o.

[Determination of the proteolytic and antiproteolytic activity of bile].

Laboratornoe delo, 1989
Basing on the known methods for measuring the proteolytic and antiproteolytic activities with the use of N-benzoyl-L-arginine-paranitroanilide, a synthetic substrate, the authors suggest measuring the bile proteolytic and antiproteolytic activities with the use of the same reagents.

Anti‐Inflammatory, Antiproteolytic and Analgesic Activities of Some New Thiadiazolyl Indoles

Archiv der Pharmazie, 1983
Abstract3‐[(2‐Aminomethyl)‐5‐mercapto‐1,3,4‐thiadiazolyl]indole (1), obtained by Mannich condensation of 2‐amino‐5‐mercapto‐1,3,4‐thiadiazole with indole and formaldehyde, was subjected to mercaptoetherification with epichlorohydrin to yield 3‐[(2‐aminomethyl)‐5‐(3‐epoxypropylmercapto)‐1,3,4‐thiadiazolyl] indole (2), which, on hydrolysis with NaOH and ...

THE ANTIPROTEOLYTIC ACTIVITY OF SERUM : I. THE NATURE AND EXPERIMENTAL VARIATION OF THE ANTIPROTEOLYTIC ACTIVITY OF SERUM.

The Journal of general physiology, 2010
1. An equation is derived for the calculation of a constant which, experimental results indicate, may be a more reliable index of the antiproteolytic activity of serum than those equations hitherto used. 2. (a) Intramuscular administration of trypsin resulted in a slow rise in the antiproteolytic activity of the serum, followed by a lesser decline. (b)

Antiinflammatory and antiproteolytic activities of newer indolyl isoquinolines.

Arzneimittel-Forschung, 1983
Several indolyl isoquinoline derivatives were synthesized and evaluated for their antiinflammatory and antiproteolytic activities. These derivatives possessed 9.2-32.4% inhibition at a dose of 100 mg/kg i.p. against carrageenin-induced oedema. Four of these derivatives (IVb, IVd, IVe and IVk) exhibited high potency in inhibiting oedema.

[Antiproteolytic activity of the blood serum in adolescents with pulmonary tuberculosis].

Vrachebnoe delo, 1989
The antiproteolytic activity of the blood serum was examined in the course of hospital treatment of 128 adolescents with prevailingly torpid forms of pulmonary tuberculosis and in 19 adolescents with tubercular infection (control). A direct correlation has been found between the degree of clinico-roentgenological manifestations of the disease and level
